I lol'd imagining Adam butchering his last name:

"Ladies and gentlemen...Mr. Fred Match-a-rhino on the gee-tar!"

As time goes on I appreciate Fred more and more, and realize WYWTB is their best album

WYWTB is their best album by 50 miles. its insane how not close it is when you listen to most of the other stuff.

I’ll never say WYWTB is their best. because it’s not. Though, it is pretty good.

I'll get killed but I've never liked the second half as much as the first half. Don't dislike any of it obviously, but I def have a preference

I think it's the middle that's pretty weak - Photograph is boring to me now (maybe due to overplay for Spider-Man 2), and I don't really need to revisit Union or New American Classic. But then it picks back up with Fred Astaire and the rest of the album is great. Still think Slowdance on the Inside is their best closing song

the run from Set Phasers to Slowdance is unmatched, imo

    Is it though?

And still, it’s a good album. I don’t really want to put any hate on it. But there are some weak songs.

sure, but every album has weak songs.

i'd put this albums weak(er) songs up against (no pun intended even tho that song sucks ass) any other albums weak(er) songs and i think WYWTB still comes out ahead.

Yeah maybe it is just the middle really. Photograph has always lowkey been one of my least favorites. Don't hate it but I skip it more often than not

Set Phasers is probably a top 10 opener for me I'll say that

Not every album (though a lot can). But probably every TBS album. I’ve said it before, but TBS is the one band where I can truly love parts of an album and then loathe other parts. Usually, I have my preferences, but normally it’s overall good or bad to varying levels. TBS is all over the place for me.

I would agree on WYWTB’s weaker songs are as low as Louder Now and S/T for sure.

I think Happiness Is has one weak song, so I’d have to give that the strongest full album run.

Of all time? Wow. Can’t say the same for me. It’s fine. Again, no hate to throw, but just nowhere near that level for me.

Oh, I see I phrased a point poorly. I agree WYWTB weaker stuff is better than most of the other weaker songs on most of their albums.

In terms of TBS records, WYWTB is as good as it gets for me. Nothing else comes close. 11/11 great tracks.

Yeah I just love that song. I'm trying to work on my top 50 and I'd def have it on there so it's probably not a reach for me anyways haha

WYWTB was *peak* lyrics in AIM away messages era for me.

"so careless, i could care less.

Interesting. It wouldn’t crack my top 50. Nothing bad to say about it, just doesn’t hit me that hard.
