Sweet, thank you. I like your stuff too.

I like the solo in the bridge of 'Happy Heart Broke You'. Maybe a bit of an odd comparison, but the kind of revery-ey distorted sound of that middle guitar kind of reminds me of Copeland a little.

Again, thanks for posting the link, I enjoyed hearing it.

Glad you found something to like about it! I especially appreciate the comment on that guitar part too bc it’s one of my favorite parts I’ve written. I’m definitely a Copeland fan, so I guess without realizing it that influence came through. Thank you for your interest and giving it a listen!

That tour was the last time they sounded good to me live. Saw them in UCH in Clifton Park, a tiny venue compared to what they usually play now and it was amazing. So many old songs I was blown away. The two times i've seen them since have been mediocre.

I agree, and when I saw them in Fall 2013 they were great. I saw them 5 times since and they were entertaining but not really great. It was either Adam’s vocals were shot or the bands onstage energy was lacking.

The key is to see TBS early on in their tours before Adam's voice is shot midway through the tour.

Every now and then amazon has great things for super cheap. I got ETID’s “from parts unknown” for $9 on vinyl the year it came out.

What are they? I thought Adam said there were no b-sides and everything recorded was put on TW.

They were on like a deluxe edition or whatever as bonus tracks. I have it.

I was listening back to Live From Orensanz today. God damn, what an album. Apparently at that show they also did an impromptu acoustic rendition of “You know How I Do” which i wish had ended up on the final cut

was that one ever released on vinyl? i'd love to own that. however i doubt we'll ever see it if it was, from what i remember that whole show was one of the leading contributors to the fazzi departure/riff between he and adam.

between the oral history done in AltPress and other interviews i've read (obviously all from the current band members POV), fazzi openly admitted he thought adam was a terrible singer and wanted the whole show to be live autotuned, and took it upon himself to attempt to make changes to the orchestral arrangements of the performances and im pretty sure it was said that the entirety of "didnt see that coming" was to adams chagrin, as fazzi had demanded wanting it a certain way.

its a bummer knowing stuff like that about an album you really really love

The thing is though, that song and performance of it is fucking beautiful. Fazzi knew what he was doing.
