Yeah, not going to this. All of the new album plus the same hits they play every single tour isn't worth it.

It's possible this was just a thing for Riot Fest weekend though right? Why would they do this all tour?

They did say they were going to play a really long set on the tour. I'd wait until a legitimate set pops up, not just a post- Riot Fest 1AM set. However, if that is the set list ultimately, I'm gonna pass. It is interesting to me that they chose Phasers and 180, two WYWTB jams. They ended up playing more WYWTB songs than TAYF songs.

Yeah, I can see them playing a more extensive back catalog selection when they're not going on at 11:30 PM

Totally right about the singalong aspect to the old stuff. Of course I'll still be jamming out and screaming my lungs out to all the old songs, I just love when bands are confident enough to perform mostly new stuff, especially when it's as good as Tidal Wave.

Yeah, Adam even said (loose paraphrasing) "I know you guys were probably like 'uggggggghhhhhh.... play Cute Without the E.....', but it's really cool that we get to play this record live. And it's fuckin good, so thank you guys for letting us do this!"

Wow wow wow. Just got back from the Omaha show and hands down, probably the best show I've ever seen from TBS (and this was lucky #13). All the songs from Tidal Wave sounded phenomenal. I was shocked at how many others in the crowd knew the lyrics. It was pretty still during the first set though.

During the 2nd set, the crowd got super rowdy. Set was the same as posted previously, however with two major additions.

First...THEY PLAYED MY BLUE HEAVEN. I talked a lot about this earlier in the thread but I have been waiting to see that song for so long. It's the one that I never managed to see live. And tonight I finally did.

They finished with MDS and it seemed that was it. House lights were on and everything. The crowd was chanting SO LOUD that they actually came back and did another encore and played You're So Last Summer. Like, they had been off stage for over 5 minutes. Never in my life have I seen a band come back on stage like that.

So many thoughts but just have to say...phenomenal performance. Adam sounded really good (another reason why I wanted to go to the beginning of the tour).

So they played the new album in its entirety tonight as well?

Yes, Tidal Wave in full, followed by the other set, followed by the unplanned encore. They played the first 6 songs from Tidal Wave before even addressing that they were doing it.

That's also how it went Friday.

Agh, I think I have to buy a ticket for Boston now, but they're pretty pricey on Stubhub.

Serious question: it was advertised as a "record release party" so I went into it expecting them to play Tidal Wave in full. I've never been to a record release party before - do bands not usually play their whole new album?

Not typically...I don't think playing albums front-to-back is really all that common unless it's like a 10 year anniversary tour or like when Riot Fest does special sets. Really the only other time I can personally think of is when MCR did The Black Parade Tour in 2007.

It's always different. I'd usually expect an album release party to have a lot the album played and maybe some songs from the album that they won't play an a normal tour, but probably not the whole album in it's entirety.

Stoked. Nashville sold out before I realized but I think I found a ticket. I honestly feel , after this many records, TBS can play a full album set and a "greatest hit " set after and I wouldn't feel ripped off.

I didn't know they added a second NYC show.

I can't believe the Agora Ballroom date isn't sold out yet. It's only 600 cap and one week from today

I've been trying to say that for weeks. Normally they play HOB (double the size) here and it usually sells out. I would be going, but it's the only night this month where I have a work commitment that I can't get out of. Beyond bummed about it.

I am going to the Cleveland date as well. I figured seeing them in the hot and sweaty ballroom will bring back some nostalgia when they first started coming here. I felt disconnected when I went to TOC. Looking back that was a really weird tour. Hoping this one goes better. Been slowly thinking that TBS isn't for me anymore, but those first few albums always reel me back in.

You know they're playing their new album in its entirety, right?

I think that may be one of the reasons it's NOT sold out yet. A lot of fans probably don't want to sit through that. I would, because I adore the new album.

I actually figured they would be playing the whole album when I got the ticket. I like the new album more than the past three, so that's a positive. I don't love it, but I also figured there would be a greatest hits portion like when they did the TAYF tour. It should be better than the TOC set that had more HI and self-titled songs.

But the entire tour went on sale, and many shows sold out, long before there was a real indication they would be playing the full album.

Since these venues were so small and limited tickets were available, it seems to me the diehards would have grabbed the tickets up long before any "casual" fans would have which to me makes me think there should be a higher ratio of people in the crowd that are okay with the album being played in full than if it were a tour like...say, Taste of Chaos.

Honestly, they've oversatuated the market. They've toured so much the past few years that less people are going to keep going each time they come back

Fair point. They come to Cleveland like every 10 months, haha. Not complaining. I've seen them like 15 times. I wish badly I was going to this tour.
