Tidal Wave has made me appreciate Happiness Is more. Flicker, Fade and Beat up car are tops right now.

Your Brain on Music explains that really well. It's been a bit since I've read it, but good read if you're interested in the science.

Beat Up Car may be one of my favorite songs the band has put out. Mark and Sean kill it in that one. Not so big into Flicker, Fade, it almost seems to have completely different production from the rest of the album.

I'm reeeally loving Homecoming, Call Come Running and All Excess on Tidal Wave right now.

Was this supposed to be a link? Cause it just seems underlined to me?

That was supposed to be italicized. My bad. It's a book, not an article.

Ohhh lol no worries, confused me for a sec! I'll have to look that up, sounds like an interesting read.

Yeah! I can't remember where I found it but it really explained that concept in easy to understand terms. The part I took the most from was how you're raised and what's playing then, into discovering your own tastes, and how they're both equally important to the inner workings of your brain and processing music as an adult.

It definitely makes sense and is something that never would have crossed my mind otherwise! Very interesting and cool thought. Human psychology is pretty damn neat.

Very neat! Sorry I'm being extremely vague in my explanation. It's been a good amount of years since I read it, but now I want to revisit it!

And on top of that, you realize some of the things you liked from the first showed up more subtly too

What do you guys think of the comparisons of this album to Johnny Cash, Billy Idol, The Ramones, Boys of Summer, The Clash, and Bruce Springsteen?

I like this album and all, but jeeze, some of these reviews are a little over the top to me. I wouldn't really compare it to classic rock legends heh. Guess I can kind of hear some Ramones inspiration in the title track.

Also, I feel like I may be one of the weird few who likes every song except for Holy Water lol

Really! It seems like a good half of this album one song plays into the next, I love it!

Undoubtably the worst part of that album.

the fadeouts on s/t are definitely the worst part of that record. the sequencing of tidal wave is one of its strong suits.

Yeah, I mean I know it's different labels/band popularity but I saw ads for blink's California EVERYWHERE. Only promotions I saw for tidal wave was from TBS themselves on twitter/fb.
