Any idea what’s going on with Mark? I hope he’s alright. I remember in the video where they talked about the inspirations behind the songs on 152, Mark said he was dealing with some stuff when he came up with Keep Going.

    Things have changed.

Oh, it is. He says it multiple times between every song. Probably 50 times over the course of the night.

Just looked up the setlist - Happiness Is getting mostly ignored is wack, give me Better Homes and Gardens over Divine Intervention any day of the week. Even if they wanted something more chill, It Takes More or All The Way would be way better.

Love the amount of 152 though and I know setlisting is tough and can't please everyone.

I can’t imagine that this will be the same setlist throughout the whole tour. But yeah, I’ll take any of those 3 Happiness Is songs you mentioned over Flicker Fade any day. I love Flicker Fade but that song is rough to try and sing along to so I can only imagine how hard it is to perform on tour.

If they have a fill-in drummer, have to imagine the set will be fairly static.

louder now having the same share as 152… I realize a lot of their more main stream popular songs are from that album, but self-titled getting nothing (best places to be a mom would be nice? Call me in the morning for a more acoustic song, etc) and happiness is only getting flicker fade… I also think we could stand to hear a different tidal wave song in lieu of the title track. Call come running would be nice from time to time.

I will say that adding divine intervention doesn’t bother me as a deep cut if it means giving the fill in drummer a break who likely had to learn a bunch of new songs in limited time. Also from a video I saw, it looks like it’s more than just Adam on the acoustic which is nice.

setlist aside, the stage set up is very fun with the risers. I like that they’re trying something different in regards to that.

Them saying mark will be back soon is more than they said when Eddie was going through shit, so I’m hopeful this is just a temporary thing. They also have this tour broken into two legs so while I don’t think it’s likely based on how their set lists usually go, there’s also the option for it to change between them?

Maybe I am misremembering, but I don’t think they ever acknowledged Eddie’s absence at all until like, years later?

Listened to this last night. "Keep Going" is an all-timer for me. Fantastic song.

I thought they had acknowledged it within a few days/weeks of Eddie leaving & said that Eddie is welcome back whenever he’s ready to come back. I doubt that Eddie will come back though. Its been over 5 years at this point.

He was hit or miss in 2016 when it came to shows, then didn’t play with them in 2017 except for the holiday shows. I think it was announced he left in spring 2018 but before that they never said anything, just moved Nathan up to his spot and continued on. At the tidal wave release show, Adam said it was due to one of his kids being sick but that was only on stage to the crowd (which I do think was true and just happened to coincide with other things he had going on).

I only brought up the Eddie thing because he was missing from a few tours and nothing was ever said, whereas the post in regards to Mark is addressing it before the show had started and said he would be back soon.

Fuck, sucks that Mark won't be there. Dude is a powerhouse and him/Shaun/Nathan seem like they carry the live show these days. Hope everything is okay with him

Wishful thinking, but would love for him to be back for Austin. Like mentioned above, him and Shaun are killer rhythm section live

Haha, don't get me wrong I love John. The sassy vocals he's doing these days are just a little rough lol

Re: the set list, this band is usually pretty great with them but a dearth of HI and continuing to play tidal wave is mind boggling. I’m not gonna spoil it in case I can make a show but a heavy dose of 152 would be a solid compromise.

    TBS/Chappell/Sum

I'd say 6 songs from that album is a heavy dose.

He toured with them in Europe beginning of 2017 and took break mid tour. I think he did one or two shows in the US after that.

Think it was due to multiple issues as you said not just one...think he later posted about not being invited back to TBS so that offer was rescinded by the looks of things.
