    hate my favorite band

Doesn’t that apply to basically all of Snyder’s movies?

That’s tough. Off the top of my head, The Batman is way better. And The Suicide Squad. Birds of Prey. Shazam. Wonder Woman. Snyder JL. I thought I’d struggle to find more than 3 great DC movies, but it seems I succeeded and more. Guess not so tough after all.

At the core of MOS is the horrendous Pa Kent stuff. it keeps a movie I would have found fine at a pretty bad level for me instead. Just some really stupid decisions made revolving around him.

I liked it when it came out. I haven’t seen it in at least 15 years.

Well, honestly, probably, but I don’t recall other trailers as much as I do MOS’. So I can’t honestly say for sure.

In one movie a man has an injured heart and the other has a dark one who suggests it may have been best that kids died.

    That’s all I got haha

Watchmen let me know exactly who Snyder was. He tried to recreate a piece of art without the ability to actually understand what he was recreating. Why the choices were made. The “art” of it just eluded him. He just saw the panels and the figures inside and that’s it. It’s the only explanation for the sheer number of choices he made that were the antithesis of what Moore and Gibbons did with Watchmen.

The first thing I remember thinking when I saw that MOS trailer was “Snyder watched his first Terrence Malick film.” And I knew we were doomed. He was just gonna try to recreate a “prestige” movie without the ability to understand the art behind those films.

I will give you Wonder Woman and maybe The Suicide Squad anyways! Fully agree on Pa Kent, though

I’ve always defended the film. But it’s definitely flawed. I always just felt the general vibe was right, and that was enough for me.

But I’m less vocal about it now given it was made by a sex pest with a sex pest as the co-lead. Kinda hard to get around that one lol

I’d also put The Flash and both Aquamans over MOS. Not to say they’re all great or anything, but MOS is really the only DCU or whatever it was called (honestly forget haha) that had a moment where I was shocked at how bad it was. I’d even take BVS over it despite its many flaws. I wasn’t surprised when it was bad. MOS’ lows are just that low for me.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice: Ultimate Cut is probably Zack Snyder’s best superhero film, because it’s the most Zack Snyder in all the ways that are overwrought and fun. I’ve grown to really enjoy that shit on its own terms.

I did forget how much I liked Mermaid Man. Gonna have to reevaluate now

I think MoS is still better. Maybe if it had Barnacle Boy, but they made a misstep

The actual best DC movie is Birds of Prey and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn. If you disagree, you hate women and/or queer people; sorry!

I mean, BVS would not rank much higher than MOS.

I wonder if Tim would unblock me if he knew I said Birds of Prey was good.

Harley Quinn, Wonder Woman 1, and the first 2/3rds of the Flash are the only DCEU films that I thought were interesting/fun. Aquaman was near interesting/fun but I am ultimately not that into Momoa being Momoa so I put it below those other two on my personal list. Could not get into Snyder’s Batman or Superman movies at all.

My DCEU hot take is that BvS:DoJ-UE is the best movie with Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman. That first solo movie of hers does not hold up at all, imo, once you get past the novelty of “omg, Hollywood let one of these tentpole superhero movies be about a woman.”

I haven’t watched the Ultimate Edition, but the theatrical version of BVS had me wishing I stayed at work instead of going to the theater

This thread is just full of my regrets.
