Not as big on this one as the first single, but it’s not bad.

yeah i dig this one, the chorus isn't as strong as the first song (initial take after one listen) but I love the energy.

I’m into it. I like how the chorus changes pace from the heavy verses. Really looking forward to this album. Should be great for summer.

Sounds like a perfect mix of Chuck and 13 Voices so far!

This song reminds me a ton of We're All to Blame

I think I already like this album more than the last one

Love the switch between hard and soft in this song. I think I like this one a tad more than out for blood.

  9. Sum 41 singer Deryck Whibley boycotts the news for the sake of his sanity
During the writing process, ringleader Deryck Whibley found his lyrics kept returning to social and political issues, but he knew he didn’t want to make a Sum 41 protest record and rearranged songs to reflect that. He considered the deeper meaning behind why he was writing about these problems and ultimately created a record that addressed his life at the moment rather than the world as a whole.

“I’m not going to write a protest record,” the Sum 41 frontman asserts. “I’m not going to talk about specific policies and trying to change the world or impeach the president and all of this kind of stuff. But I can talk about how I don’t like [Trump]. I can talk about my own personal feelings, I guess. If I have some sort of anger, I can write an angry song, but I’m not necessarily saying time’s up. We need to impeach the president. A lot of people are. There’s a whole movement of trying to go down that road, and I support that route to a certain degree. I’m all for voting him out, but yeah, he’s not my kind of guy.”
Damn, that's too bad, I woulda really liked that.

I really like the new sum41 song. Especially the part before the chorus where the music drops and he sings all somber like, that has to be my favorite part.

“You look like shit, you smell like shit, why you such a dick?”

Checks out. And you’re right — we need an updated version since she’s passed.

Am I correct in thinking this new song is about trump in a sense? Like a big middle finger to him

I’m really anxious to hear the track titled “45,” too. Well, the entire album really. I have a good feeling this will be similar to how Chuck was during the Bush era.

For me, the two new tracks really are the most successful they’ve been at capturing the essence that made me love them when I was younger since...Chuck? Not saying that they haven’t been good since, but these two songs feel far tighter (and the energy more natural) than almost of their recent output.

I love the harmonizing with the vocoder that’s goes on just before the chorus in the first verse of Death in the Family.

Very happy that I like these songs and I hope they’re a sign of what’s to come.
