Definitely could see that. I tried to go into it without comparing it to the original trilogy, and that probably helped. Wondering if they will be doing another of those given the lukewarm reception to it. Seemed to do decent enough at the BO though.

As a stand alone it is an alright action movie. But it's plot is pretty pointless and not intriguing.

A good Sinister Six film would be so, so, so good, though. I'm still so down for that.

I dunno... Maybe? I think Flash has been well liked enough in the early promotions for JL to justify still doing it next, though. Easy way to insert fun without forcing it.

Yes. This would be absolutely perfect in every way possible and has to happen someday, please please please.

Well Zootopia came out back in March and has been out on DVD/Blu-ray since the beginning of June.

Yeah but they need a sure thing. I don't see Justice League being good so Wonder Woman could be their last chance at gaining some good will with movie-goers. If WW and JL are as critically panned as BvS and SS are, the DCEU could be done.

Wait what? I wasn't trying to be argumentative. I was just trying to let you know that if you want to see it you can rent or whatever. Sorry?

You should definitely watch Zootopia though because that's a really good movie. If any of you watched Suicide Squad and are feeling sad about it and haven't seen Zootopia yet then I suggest you watch Zootopia.

I could see Justice League being alright and the Flash being a lot of people's favorite part, which is why I think a Flash movie could still be their best post-JL movie. If both WW and JL are genuine failures, their plans will definitely implode, but I don't expect that to be the case.

It helps that they have time to figure out what did and didn't work for BvS and Suicide Squad. A lot of what's wrong with Suicide Squad feels like a mix of continuing the failures of BvS and hastily, sloppily overcompensating tweaks. They have an entire year to make sure WW is where it needs to be; JL probably had some decent rewrites to streamline; and The Flash can still be completely rewritten if necessary without missing a beat.

So when do we suspect camera's actually start rolling on The Flash? Early 2017?

Of all the crap I've seen this summer, this one takes the cake.

Hated it. MoS and BvS had (major) flaws, but they were at least competently put together. I'm still in shock how great this looked, and how bad it turned out.

Wow, if you thought BvS was competently put together but you hated this, ugh, it must be really bad.

that's the problem with his post. BvS was such a mess they had to promote the ultimate edition as it hit theaters. This movie isn't amazing or anything, but it's not worse than BvS.

Do you think they will recut this and make UE home video release?

I really really hope not. I have heard confirmation that there truly were two cuts of this movie and the Ayer version was a lot better. So, while part of me wants to see that, I would rather studios give us their best take in theaters. If they do release an alternate cut I will not be seeing DC movies in theater anymore and simply wait for the bluray/alt cut. With the backlash here being similar to BvS, I could see them doing it. But we knew about the BvS alt cut before it even hit theaters. So, who knows.

  24. They're not going to be "done" .. they're making money, and can "reboot," reset, and keep releasing these things forever.
