I liked BvS more than either Thor and I fucking loathed BvS

    Be my alibi?

We should start a pool to guess which DC (live action) movie will be the first to receive a "Certified Fresh" rating...

Batfleck, obviously. It'll be the only one.

Wonder woman or Lego Batman, whichever comes first

    Just a friendly reminder

I'll probably begrudgingly see this one like I did BvS. None of the reviews describe this as something that I'd really be too thrilled with which is too bad. I could probably just watch Guardians of the Galaxy again though. I don't know.

It's gotta be Wonder Woman. It's a superhero period piece, which worked for Captain America: First Avenger and X-Men: First Class and DOFP. Plus, Wonder Woman was a clear highlight in most things I read about BvS.

I'm still excited to see this regardless of the poor reviews it's receiving.

I didn't have high hopes for BvS but I had a lot of fun with it. Still need to watch it a second time though.

But yeah Peter's 15 minutes in CW was better than the whole two movies with Andrew Garfield :crylaugh:

None of us know which DC movie will be the first to be "certified fresh" because none of us have seen any of those movies

Unless they severely screw up "LEGO Batman," I can't see it not getting a Fresh.'

EDIT: Oh, you meant live action. I'd still say "Wonder Woman" has the best chance.

  17. BvS Extended Ultimate edition was good. I didn't see the theatrical version, though. I'm seeing Suicide Squad on Saturday.

I'm not saying the Thor movies are good, because they're not. But they make a hell of a lot more sense than BvS.

They never will. Critics are out to trash this universe in attempts to get Warner Bros. profits to decline, which will allow the discontented shareholders to okay their purchase to Emperor Disney.

I know and I suppose it's fine but I think it places more weight on RT scores and pre-builds a narrative that one might end up looking to be confirmed, and also plays into DC vs Marvel a bit with the treating of DC like a sports team, "when will they finally get a win????", and at that point you're not really talking about movies, you're talking about corporations and product and how successful they are by arbitrary, meaningless metrics. That's not really a meaningful or interesting way to talk about movies to me, but if it's fun for others then call me Brian Eno cause I'm just being an ol' sourpuss. Pay me no mind, I'm a doofus.

I view RT percentages like I do box office numbers and the Academy: not an accurate predictor of quality, but still fun to look at and talk about.

I've seen multiple people say how the critical reaction is some conspiracy organized by Disney and/or this would be better if it wasn't PG-13 that it blows my mind some people still somehow reach these conclusions.

Thor is just kinda blah because Thor is humorless and even Idris Elba can't get me to give a shit about the politics of it

Okay but Jeff Goldblum is the villain in the next one and he's said to have improvised much of the character. Never been excited for Thor before or even seen one in theaters but I'm seeing that shit.

To me the Thor movies are kinda fun, but still forgettable and bland. I will probably watch them again at some point but not with any real excitement. They do have Natalie Portman and Kat Dennings and I like them
