Thanks, yeah, i just looked it up and see that it's 1 normal episode and the super sized episode i referenced. I think I just got it confused with BCS and the like, and assumed it was the same thing where it'd be an almost even split. Story wise, this seemed like a good place to end for a break, and now the super short break makes sense with it just being basically 2 movies left.

I realllllly don't understand why they didn't just release this season week-by-week, and hope they shift to that model for the final season. This show is probably Netflix's buzziest show in terms of people talking about it online and theorizing and has always felt so weird to me that after season 1 they didn't capitalize on that by shifting to week-to-week.

Maybe they will for the final season, but I think that shows that release weekly still receive a lot of backsplash. When season 2 of the boys was released it looked like it was bombing hard with the rating, as people were furious it went from all at once to weekly and just review bombed it. I know other streaming networks have done the weekly thing now, but I think it's easier to release a new show weekly, vs do it with something that you've previously been able to binge. Long story short, I think it'd be a gamble for Netflix and more likely to end in bad press than good.

I’m not feeling great about Steve’s chances while we’re at it. Those bites are definitely affecting him and they made a point of showing that for a reason. Nancy’s relationship with Jonathan is strained, but unresolved on both of their ends because of the distance between them. Steve’s story could absolutely end with him sacrificing himself to save the others or even just Nancy herself. Just feels like they’re teeing me up for some sadness here.

Just finished this last night. Thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it so far. I know there are some differing opinions on this season, the arc, the actors, etc, but as someone who has only watched each season one time at the time of release, it was totally enjoyable to be in this world again and along for the ride.

An inconsequential shift as the continents drift.

killing Steve would be... a bold move from a team that's never done something like that lmao. then again this season seems to be going all out so who knows

either Mike or Jonathan reeeeally gotta go lol. preferably Mike cos Joyce has been through enough, but whenever either one's onscreen I go crosseyed

All the show's talk about Jonathan's lack of direction this season almost felt like meta-commentary from the writers

I just got a real bad feeling with those wounds. They kept showing how much pain he’s in and then when they arrive at Nancy’s house in the Upside Down he coughs a few times and says that he thinks he must have swallowed some of those Upside Down dust particles. But ain’t nobody else coughing like that.

    Things have changed.

I agree, they should kill Jonathan or Mike.

It would probably be Will sacrificing himself for Mike with how hard they've underlined the romantic pining there.

No way they kill Will or Mike. Steve or Jonathan is definitely possible.

I think Eddie is a goner for sure, he feels like the Bob / Alexi of the season. There’s always one side character who has to go.

I don’t think they’d go for the “Bury Your Gays” trope with their understanding of the importance of Robin’s story last season, especially if it were to come on the heels of Will coming out. Maybe Steve makes it and hey great, I love his character, but his death would also hurt and impact the group. My guess would be that some situation befalls them where someone must stay behind and do the thing and Steve sacrifices himself because they all now know he’s at death’s door due to his wounds anyway and he’s willing to step up to the plate one last time. He dies a hero, etc. Just felt like there’s a reason for those bits with his wound, the coughing, and also ending episode 6 with him screaming in pain while the bats are attacking him only to be immediately saved within seconds of the opening of episode 7. No way to me that that’s inconsequential.

Steve seems more like he's going to gain access to the upside down like Will in Season 2, like its infecting him and he's having visions they can use for exposition. If he died it'd be a slow sickness and not the kind of heroic sacrifice they'd more likely want to use.

Hopper and Eddie make a lot of sense for dying tho, Hopper already said he wants to help one more time and Eddie has a running arc about running away from fights. They'd both make good deaths.

Honestly, the show should end with 11 dying to seal the upside down, that'd be the most full circle they can go.

Don’t think they can kill Hopper after pretending to kill him and then spending a whole season getting him back to the group

I think Hopper will die at the end of the show. They're not going to do season 5 without Hopper, just not going to happen.

Yeah, probably Eddie dies this season, Hopper in the last. 11 dies in the last episode but they Iron Giant cop out of it by showing her eating a waffle in the upside down (which is pretty now) or something.
