Yeah, this trilogy made me realize how truly compelling of a mystery writing King is. I couldn't put the last two books down - similar to how I felt about all of Gillian Flynn's books.

I also thought the ending was perfect. Taking a King break to start Infinite Jest then I'm not sure what King book I'll read next.

Seriously considering a re-read of the Dark Tower series... or at least Wizard and Glass again. I remember honestly hating that story because of how far it pulls you out of the adventure to the tower. Wondering if I'd like it more if I just read it on as a stand alone.

Lol so about three years I breezed through the first three books and then I picked up Wizard and Glass and just could not get through it because I was so connected to Roland and what was going on with his ka-tet, but I recently started reading it again and I'm enjoying it a lot more this time around.

    Nice.

After watching Midnight Special (which I adored) I'm really excited for Jaeden.

Just wrapped up the bill hodges trilogy, really enjoyed all three. Now about half way through salems lot, love it so far.

Also grabbed a copy of the stand, it, and pet cemetery at a used book store so one of those is probably up next. Been on a huge king kick lately.

  7. Anyone else think Wolves Of The Calla is kind of a mess? I loved certain elements of it, but I thought the stakes felt pretty low, and it kept using that artificial suspense tactic of just not telling the reader something that the POV character obviously knows, which I can't stand.

I'm reading the Dark Tower series and doing some research.
Are Marten and Walter the same person? Some sites and forums say yes and some say no. Marten was the sorcerer from Roland's early days, but Walter is the Man in Black. It seems like the two would be connected somehow even if they are different people.

Yep, they're all Flagg. (It's been awhile since I've read it so I can't remember if that's a spoiler or not)

I read 1-6 years ago and am rereading 1-6 before I start 7. I remember looking it up then and seeing they're both one, but I didn't remember where in the books it acknowledged it.

  16. Misery, It, and Joyland are probably my top three. Not sure which would be number one though. I have such fond memories associated with reading all of them.

Finished The Dark Tower last night. What a journey. I own the Wind Through The Keyhole but I think I'm gonna let TDT digest for a little bit until I dive into it.

I just started Pet Sematary. I've heard it's his scariest, so I'm excited for that

Book genuinely made me cry. If you've seen the film, then you already know the scene.

  24. I'm been reading King recently (after a year or two break). Re-read The Long Walk, read 'Salem's Lot for the first time, and now I'm re-reading The Stand. It's convenient to read books on my phone when I'm having to travel light.

Never read any Stephen King before but just finished listening to the Audiobooks of Mr. Mercedes trilogy and thoroughly enjoyed them. Could definitely see Mr. Mercedes especially being turned into a movie and honestly using the book verbatim as a screenplay, it definitely seemed very movie like. Also listened to some of his short stories as well: The Gingerbread Girl and 7 of the Everything's Eventual Tales.

Think I wanna listen to The Dark Tower saga at some point
