Is Gwendy's good for newcomers that don't know anything about Castle Rock?

Yep, it's not heavy on callbacks and what's in there are just small easter eggs unimportant to the story.

I'm halfway through Wizard and Glass and oh my god it is just fascinating.

The story of Roland and Susan is just brilliant, mysterious, and plays with my heartstrings. I am terrified of the final half of that story, as the future of Susan has already been warned.

Just finished The Stand. Great book. I know they made a miniseries for it back in the 90s but I'd love to see a movie of this (would work best as a trilogy imo). would have the potential to be pretty fucking epic.

Once I finish the Dark Tower series (just finished book 4) I plan on reading a few smaller of his books, but I want to tackle the Stand. Glad to hear good things about it!

I've read most of his shorter works. I'm still bummed I never finished The Dome (which is funny cuz I was on page 800 or so when I stopped), and I don't think I'll go back to read it all over again tbh. Salem's Lot is still up there as one of my favorites. Book was pretty damn dark, even for Stephen King.

That's how I am with IT. I got 800 pages in and got so busy with school. I plan on finishing it before the movie comes out!

The Shining, Salem's Lot, and Misery will definitely be on my list next...cool to hear Salem's Lot is still a solid favorite since wasn't it one of his very first novels?

ya I think it was his second. If you're looking for something shorter I recommend getting the Bachman Books (includes The Long Walk, The Running Man, Roadwork, Rage, and I thought Blaze as well but wiki is telling me otherwise). The Long Walk is the best out of all of them, hands down. Short read but super entertaining.

I feel the same way. I probably won't watch the Dark Tower movie till I read the books. Idk if I'll ever get around to IT, I have a hard time getting through books when I've seen the movie first.

It's incredible. It's a lot more of a slow burn than his other books though so stick with it if your not digging it from page one.

Castle Rock "weaves together characters and themes from King's novels". Which novels do we think/know this will include? I've read a handful of his stuff but not everything like some of you have.

Lisey's Story was pretty good - not one of my favorites, but an enjoyable read.

Also read Gwendy's Button Box yesterday and thought it was great.

Yeah episode 2 was a very lame/uneventful followup to ep 1.

Ok, so this has been screwing with my head recently. At first I made the obvious assumption that Richard Farris was related to Flagg because of the RF, but I'm going through the Stand comics and they reminded me that The Judge's real name is literally Richard Farris. Like wtf!

Oh wow! It's so wild how much he connects everything. One day I'll read The Stand comics.
