Doing some cryptic stuff on twitter, including a code to a video that ends with "2019-2023" so I'm really hoping that doesn't mean what I think it means

I wouldn't assume the worst just yet.

The description on that video says "a year to the day. with no hope left. remain a shell of what was. the death of independence."

This LP dropped on May 18th last year so expect something will come of this on thursday. Seems to me like a new single coming. Possibly signed to a label?

 

It won't be a break up, they've got tonnes of stuff already recorded. It'll be the next era of the band.

 

Why does every band need to have eras.

Disappointed, they were teasing new stuff with cryptic codes and hidden videos and shit for months and just this?? First misfire for this band for me.

 

Signing to Roadrunner makes sense, happy for them, but yeah that’s an annoying way to announce a signing.

I imagine an EP of new material or maybe even another album will drop at some point in 2024. From what I understand, 'RCD' was completed around late 2019/early 2020 and in mid-2022 they confirmed they're already working on the next thing, so there'll be more new stuff coming.

 

Spotify confused me cause they have had it up already and it’s the same album with the new Courtney. Should’ve just uploaded it as a single. Stoked to hear the new versions but damn, same songs we been listening to for over a year, and we gotta wait till later this year, I’m guessing filling the gap between now and new material in 2024.

Apparently Olli said on a stream there is going to be 3 RCD Redux volumes: the first volume is these 4, then later on another 4 and finally after that the final 4 for Volume 3. I really hope we get new music still and they aren't going to milk this for another year?? They should change the name of the vinyl because it's not the redux, it's the base album and Volume 1 on a 7". I'm sure theyll do another for Volume 2 and 3 later on and then a full redux release.

Just seems messy. Yay labels?

Only just discovering this - album absolutely. Also shout out to them having a masked person in the band just called Contrast lol, no one takes swings like that anymore

 

Apparently they're main support on the Underoath TOCS 20th anniversary Tour.
