I like Dirty Work but that's an odd comparison. This is easily the best single yet

Derek is the latest guest on Lead Singer Syndrome for those that are interested.

 

This is my favorite single yet. I hear the Dirty Work comparison on it, it would fit in with Under A Paper Moon and Do You Want Me Dead pretty well

 

Out tomorrow.

 

Assuming this will be the perfect soundtrack for the sunny 80 degree weather tomorrow

 

"Half Empty" might be my favorite ballad any pop-punk band has done. Reminds me of early 5SOS, but in the best way.

Also "Everybody But You" is definitely the worst song on the album.

 

Is it out there?

 

Everybody But You sounds like a song written for a 90s-00s teen comedy. So formulaic in a bad way.

 

Yeah, they sent it out to their fan club this morning, and it's now on the usual *drip* sites.

 

If Everybody But You is “the worst song” on the album, I’m gonna love this because that song rules.

 

Everybody But You has to be the worst song this band has put out..I wouldn't mind the lyrics if the song was catchy but it's not

 

The instrumentals of EBY are fun as hell. If that’s the floor, I am PUMPED for the ceiling.

 

Lyricism aside, I’m baffled how someone could say EBY isn’t catchy lol that’s all it is

 

This album is a blast; loved this from start to finish

 

Excited to check this one out. Good couple of weeks for pop punk between this and simple plan.

 

This is solid. Better than I expected for sure

 

I think the only thing I don't like about EBY is Ben's part, the rest of that song gets stuck in my head whenever I hear it.

Album is pretty good on first listen, Eventually is still one of my favorite things this band has done lately.

 

Had never heard of Mitchell Tenpenny before, but his part/voice sounded dope on "Act Like That"

 

The album is fine, some of the lyrics really take me out of it but it’s decent pop punk

 

"Everybody But You is not catchy" is not a take I ever expected to hear lol.

 

Right in time for summer, love this!

 

Maybe it caught me in the wrong mood but I found this pretty meh on first listen. I liked Living Proof a lot but I still feel like the band is an album or two behind in their progression. They’re clearly going further in the poppy direction here but in much smaller increments than it feels like they should be progressing especially given the amount of time between releases. And while the sonic direction definitely suits them, I just don’t think the songwriting itself is that strong here compared to what they’ve done in the past.

 

To be fair, I don’t personally expect complex song writing from pop punk.

 

Neither do I, I don’t think anything they’ve done before is complex either
