Top things I want from celebration
1. Ahmed Best with a George Lucas-level standing ovation. Dude deserves it.---√
2. Loan Tran also with a huge standing ovation---√
3. great trailers for Episode 9 and Mandalorian with little plot details and no big reveals. (Check. And I’m okay with knowing about Palpy. Obviously Mandalorian not for the public but supposedly it’s great and loved the panel so √ & √)
4. Clone Wars news that the 12 episodes are not including finished versions of the bad batch/utapau arcs. (Got half of this and I actually liked the bad batch arc so I say this is a win)
5. Any level of project announcements. B&W series. RJ series. New TV show. Obi wan. Whatever. (The announcement is they are taking a break from movies. At least we get confirmation and I like the patience and strategy to plan it out)
6. George Lucas showing up for The Phantom Menace panel (Knew it was a long shot.)

Really good celebration. Worth that wait. So excited for the future of Star Wars. Kennedy and Lucasfilm is killing it. Hopefully with Clone Wars, Mandalorian, and Rise of Skywalker out within the next year the apparent divisiveness caused by the vocal minority will die down.

 

I only watched the Episode IX panel and Sisters of the Force panel and both were very good.

That Clone Wars trailer is out of control and I'm excited.

Were any books mentioned? At some point you would think they'd have a Luke centered book between Jedi and TFA.

 

It wasn’t streamed but The Publishing panel was Friday and nothing big. There will be a The Journey to The Rise of Skywalker series like the other movies but they haven’t announced them yet

 

I saw the first episode of Resistance at the Resistance panel. Maybe it was watching it with a huge crowd but I thought the episode was great and quite intense. It closes with a striking visual image. I couldn't be more excited about season 2.

 

Do you mean the first episode of season 2?

 

I fell so far behind on Resistance, but I've got about 7 episodes left I think. I mostly enjoyed it to start, but things seem to really be picking up in this last half.

 

Yeah the first half of Resistance is garbage in my opinion. The back half is good with the last few being very good. The Bibo episode being an absolutely bottom of the barrel episode.

 

It definitely got better by the end but still not super interested in what’s going on. The tam thing makes me somewhat intrigued and curious how it fits in with TLJ so I’ll give it a shot with low expectations

 

Having serious Celebration withdrawals.

 

That Resistance panel was one of my favorite moments. It was a real joy seeing that episode with the cast and everyone else in the room. Thought the episode was great!

I could see them having a future filmmakers panel at the next Celebration in Anaheim.

 

I would legit watch “Resistance Watches Resistance” on Disney+.

That’s great. How was the tone of the first episode? Heavier like the latter half of season one, or what?

 

It starts fairly soon after the finale so I would say the tone is much closer to the latter half. You still get spazzy Kaz but Tam being in the first order... it’s like things are getting real ha

Started Thrawn tonight. Figured it a good way to get back into some Star Wars.

 

Have you checked out the Thrawn comic run Marvel did a little while back?

 

Nah. Never been much into SW comics. Have too many others to stay caught up on. Haha. Have to pick and choose and there aren’t really many good Batman novels.

 

Understandable. There’s some good stuff out there for sure. If you get the itch I’ll gladly rec some volume highlights.

 

Bout to start Master and Apprentice and am excited. Supposedly it gets really deep.

 

Thrawn is good but I didn't care much for the second one. The third one comes out soon I think

 

So after watching Jedi Council (which was actually a really good one that I didn’t skip through for once) supposedly there’s a lot with Palpatine being tied to Jakku somehow. Like he was exploring it for some reason. Peru and Ken said they wanted to reread the last book of the trilogy before 9.

So I HAVE to read them now lol do I have to read the first book to get the other two? Supposedly the first one isn’t very good
