Damn as much as I did not like the season, I thought the final episode was really solid. Loved Tam making the decision to go with the First Order. that definitely makes me interested at least giving next season a shot for that storyline alone. I definitely want her just to be a permanent antagonist now (or at least for a while.) Loved Synara bringing the pirates to help as well. Definitely teased us with the D'Qar thing only to pull the rug out lol but thats fine.
Still dont like the show overall but liked how it ended. Will at least check out the start of next season to see the direction and narrative.

Also considering where it leaves off and the second season being released this fall most likely before Episode 9 it will be interesting to see what the time frame will be

It’s totally reasonable for an adult to not dig it, but Resistance is still a very quality kids show. Pretty strong start imo.

Agreed on the Tam situation. Def raising the stakes for next season and I’m curious to see where the Colossus will end up. At some point Tam will prob learn the error of her ways and hopefully be a person on the inside to help Kaz & co.

So ive decided since Clone Wars is supposedly leaving Netflix April 6th and wont be on streaming until Disney plus which is when I assume the new season will air, Im going to binge the series. That and Queen's Shadow will be the perfect Star Wars placeholder until Celebration. Im going to try it in chronological order for the first time too.

Watched the Resistance finale. You knew shit starting to get real when A) Kaz and Yeager switched the blasters from stun and B) Tam rolled with the FO. It’s been a slow build and was a slog at times, but I think season 2 is gonna raise the stakes and we’ll see some quality episodes (like a good bit if the second half was). I was a little leery when they mentioned they were going to D’Qar. Narratively I didn’t see how it could work. In typical Neeku fashion he fucked it up and managed to make it more interesting, so now I’m really intrigued.I’m glad I decided to stick with the show. I’ve grown to enjoy watching it each week and I’m excited to see where they go from here.

Pissed off Kaz was my favorite. Christopher Sean killed it as Kaz this season. JJ is a coward if Kaz isn't in Ep IX. Jesus that was a good finale. I can't stop thinking how the Colossus is symbolic of one of the main themes of the sequel trilogy. There was a great Twitter post on it.

    Also:
Could the Colossus have originally been an Imperial flight academy? Remember the Skystrike Acadamy where Wedge/Sabine were at in Rebels? (Skystrike Academy) Definitely looks similar, though not exactly the same. Captain Doza was an imperial officer, Torra is a badass pilot, I know her mother was a pilot as well. It being a former training facility seems to make sense. Not really sure if there are any ramifications here, just another interesting subtle tie in to existing canon. This show does a really good job of that.

This is great. It’s really cool how the Colossus itself has become such an important part of the show.

Obi wan in the first episode of the chronological order of Clone Wars spouting Last Jedi themes: “its more important to save lives than destroy ships...”

Shame Poe had to learn that only after he was responsible for the death of basically the entire Resistance lol

Thought technically if he didn’t destroy the dreadnaught it would have destroyed them after their hyperspace jump. No black and white answer.

Very true he went against orders and it ended up working out but I didn’t mean just with the bombing force more with him leading a secret mission that ended up with him directly telling DJ Holdos plan (which is why she didn’t want to tell him) who sold out their position.

I get what you mean, just pointing that out. Interestingly enough Holdo saves the resistance by destroying the ship haha

God after only two episodes on Christophsis I quickly remember how much I love this show. Love the score. love the animation style actually. This show just resonates with me so much.

...next in order is the movie though. Im scared lol

  18. Season one is definitely pretty evenly split between unwatchable and good. The first half was such a slog and almost offensively terrible. Once the first order stuff ramped up, it got much better. Good season finale. They did enough in the back half to get me to watch season 2.

Battles of Christophsis and Teth are great. And then the rest of the movie happens...

Yeah I’m struggling with this movie lol can’t believe they decided to make this story (which is probably one of the series’ worst arcs) into a movie. It really is just an advertisement for the show lol

Kevin Kiners music still fucking rocks though. This movies score has such a different Eastern feel. It’s interesting.

The movie isn't as bad when you think of it as just another four-episode arc of the show.

True and the first episode I liked. 2nd and 3rd not so much. The Huttling stuff is just such television quality stuff lol them organizing it to take it in in movie form added to the dissonance. It’s not an interesting enough story to capture my attention for 100 minutes.
