Yea my guess is either not the right acoustic environment or a lack of the right instruments to pull it off. Still worth it either way.

The San Francisco symphony is doing all 3 movies on consecutive weekends in July. I want to go to all 3 but it's 60 bucks a pop for the cheapest seats.

It seems like Lucasfilm didn't have a direction of their own and then JJ came along and made a plan (his scripts for 8 and 9 were going to be used) but Johnson did his own thing and got rid of whatever plan there was so Lucasfilm shrugged their shoulders. I originally thought Lucasfilm had a plan whenever they were discussing episode 7.

Watching episodes 7 and 8 back-to-back supports this, imo.

Agreed, my guess is that there was a plan (we know JJ wrote a draft for VIII), but then Rian came in with his own idea and they loved the direction more than what they had originally.

I think it's a major misconception that creators have an entire arc in mind when they start a movie. Most shows and movies don't have the entire plot, beat-by-beat, planned out beforehand. Even GL didn't have the original trilogy all planned out. This is obvious in many ways, one of which is Leia kissing her brother on the mouth in ESB. GL didn't even know he'd get another movie when he was writing the original. I have no problem with them making it up along the way. That is literally how stories work. No one conceives of an entire plot all at once in some type of epiphany.

Not all of them have detailed plans some have at least plot outlines or an idea in which they will go in (an example is how Nolan didn’t have any detailed ideas how the third film would be but he and his brother always had the end of the trilogy planned where Bruce fakes his death and passes the mantle to someone else). This article shows that Lucasfilm probably doesn’t even have that and are going with whatever drift the directors throw at them.

Not sure if anyone else has been following this but it looks like the barge from Hasbro might get filled. Insane. A little over 4500 now and 4 days left. Wish I could afford it ha

Got this blanket to hang up on my wall and without getting into it, it’s not gonna work, but it still makes a pretty rad blanket!

For Rebels fans, Vanessa Marshall (Hera) was on Jedi Council. Really awesome stuff. I love hearing how much the people involved love Star Wars and she really is a SW nerd

Nice! Is it going to be anime style animation? I'd be into that.

Edit: It just says anime inspired and I'm not sure if that's just promo art, I guess it could still look closer to Rebels. Still I'm excited.

Looking at how Filoni tied Clone Wars and Rebels together, I'd suspect Ezra and Thrawn show up. There's no way Filoni sent them off in hyperspace toward the unknown regions for no reason.

Totally missed that Donald Faison is part of the cast! My excitement is sky high right now.

Theres so much canon that could be tied in. Snoke and the Hux's. Books like Phasma like Vi Moradi. Bloodline with Greer Sonnel/ Joph Seastriker. Depends on the timelines obviously but theres so much time and so much they can draw from. Super pumped even though I do want Filoni to have a higher position.

I also wouldnt mind if a less 3D and realistic animation means higher output of shows and a longer run.

Bloodline takes place about six years before TFA if I remember correctly. So this would have to be between then and TFA. I'm not sure how much room that gives for Snoke & Hux.

True. depends on when it starts. Taking place before episode 7 is so vague since it covers a 20 year span or so. I doubt Joph but Greer was with the Resistance or Han at least for a bit before Bloodline. Also i dont remember when the Phasma book happened in canon but seeing Vi Moradi, Cardinal, or SIV would be really cool

    It's been a while!
I'm excited for Resistance, but I was hoping for a bigger animated series honestly. I think they have multiple projects going and this is probably the easiest to produce with the animation style, so i'm excited, but I've been hoping for a clone wars style animated series set after jedi following numerous characters and story lines. Especially after seeing the Rebels finale.

It's going to be nice to have something filling in the long gap between Solo and Episode IX.
