i was able to find the FTIA listing, so maybe they're just relaying information, but i still question its overall authenticity. even if the film picks up after TROS, they've explicitly stated they want to move away from the episodic Skywalker Saga, and given the reaction to the ST, i think calling it X would hurt public goodwill even more.

I looked deeper into the theories of who Jude Law's character in Skeleton Crew is going to be. The one that sounds most plausible to me is he going to be a canon version of a Legends/EU character named Valin Halcyon. Who is a former Jedi order 66 survivor turned private investigator. People point out that several heavy blatant reference to Valin were in the Obi-Wan series

I know nothing about the Twitter user but you can find the listing for the film on the site for yourself. It’s real.

 

after more research, apparently FTIA just scrapes potential production info from other sources, a lot of it supposedly outdated. so i'm doubtful that it's the official name, but i could be wrong. also another page on FTIA notes that a listing for the film is up, paired with some very AI-generated artwork.

 

I don't really mind if Episode X is in the title or not. Maybe this will allow the episode title of films to have a good ending and not end with TROS.

So you're saying that someone from Disney production went to that website and made that page for it? Because I really doubt it and I doubt that this is a legitimate source for anything.

It was already denied months ago. If it’s real at all, it’s probably a working title. I don’t see why they would actually title a movie already when we don’t even know that it has a finished script and it isn’t even the next movie to come out. We’re just repeating the same conversation we had months ago when a very unreliable source tried reporting it. lol

 

i think the problem here is that this doesn't seem like an outlet where Disney would reveal information like this (a title, let alone confirmation that it's being branded as X). i don't doubt that the film is gonna start production soon (assuming the script is actually done), so the listings make sense in that regard, but it seems like they're drawing from a variety of sources to share information on upcoming productions for industry professionals - some of which night not be reliable. if it was a legit Disney posting, it would probably say something like "Untitled Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy Star Wars Film".

 

I wouldn't put it past Disney to title a film before having a script. They date Marvel films without having a cast or director and this title is generic as shit.

Not saying anyone is wrong or right, just saying it could go either way.

 

Yeah the "A New Beginning" is very b-tier. I'm hoping for New Jedi Order.
