I know I post this every few months, but High Republic is easily my favorite SW going right now. Phase 2 has been really interesting and has shown how one, smaller conflict between worlds can engulf the galaxy. If you’re looking for new characters/story/villains, unique views of the Jedi/Republic, and great storytelling, check it out.

 

Phase 2 has started? Doesn't look like the first book comes out until April.

 

Phase 2 of the entire initiative started last year with the books Path of Deceit and Convergence. April is Wave 2 of Phase 2 and starts with the book Cataclysm.

 

I need to pick it back up. I’ve really enjoyed everything I’ve read from it.

 

Phase 2 has been much smaller in scale and more setup for the 2nd half and for the Phase 1/3 stories, but really interesting in examining its themes in a much deeper way than Phase 1. The audio drama for this phase, The Battle of Jedha, was outstanding and very cinematic. I finished it in like a day because I couldn’t stop listening.

Yes absolutely this. You are right in the sweet spot. Episode six absolutely takes off (and features a stunning flight sequence) and never looks back. The arc that follows right after the one you’re currently in is probably the best of the season.

Yeah that ruled and had me on board, and since then he's just been standing around in a field with the Bears cousin

 

I’ll also add here that the end of episode seven is what sets up Cassian’s next arc so seven is sort of a pause between arcs but still great.

Looks like he’s most known for Locke and Peaky Blinders. Other than those two things, he’s got some very meh stuff on his resume.

 

Yeah this announcement does not inspire much confidence at all. The writing was one of the biggest problems with that last trilogy and I want someone who knows what they're doing writing this movie. I was really hoping the Lindelof movie was happening.

If we're going down this route, I say just let Rian Johnson do whatever the heck he was planning with his trilogy and see how it goes.

They can make as many announcements as they want but at this point I won't believe any star wars movies are actually being made until my ass is in a theater actually watching one.

 

some updates to the D+ helmet intro this week. for sure Bo-Katan and the Armorer’s, and I swear I saw Greivous on this week’s Bad Batch, but didn’t when I was watching closer for Mando.

 

definitely Greivous in the Bad Batch intro, and not in The Mandalorian’s.

have they always had different helmets for every show and I never noticed? or is this a recent change.
