Like that whole final act was nothing compared to TLJ or TFA

 

To be clear, that wasn't intended as some hot take about what Star Wars film is worse than what other Star Wars film, which is about as tedious & tired as a statement can be in the year of the Lord two thousand nineteen.

All I know is, as much as I enjoyed myself seeing this in the theater a couple days ago, laughing in both good & bad ways throughout this film whose plot I thankfully already knew in detail... When I think about it right this second, I get sad. And, if I could watch an overrated filmmaker's misguided b-movie-flavored passion project instead of this corporate appeal to my least favorite versions of online fandom, I would. That might not be true a year from now, but tonight, in my heart, it is. *sigh*

Ughhhhhhh has “Goals” been confirmed.

 

Goals honestly would fit in very well in the one wars cartoons lol

 

I don't think it was a joke really. By saying it was a "1,000,000 to 1 move" it negates the point about using kamikaze droids that everyone loved going on about after TLJ.

 

Can't wait to see everyone mad at "Holding for General Hugs" completely giving "goals" a pass

One thing I had forgotten until my rewatch just the other day was how 'quippy' Poe is at the beginning of Force Awakens when Kylo Ren captures him. I had forgotten how much of a smartass he is in these scenes and how he keeps cracking pretty odd jokes during some very serious events. To me, it made the jokey exchange between Poe and General Hux at the beginning of Last Jedi go down a whole lot smoother.

This movie gets worse the more you think about it. I feel like The Last Jedi has the opposite effect.

 

I really did not like The Last Jedi at the time, and even until recently.

But upon seeing this movie I kinda love it now?

 

The more I think about this movie, the more I think I’m not really minding how TLJ went as much, in hindsight...

 

So stupid to put that kiss in there. Also don’t really think Kylo should have been redeemed

 

Yea, the kiss was awful. I hate it so much. what a weird message that sends.

I’m okay with Bendemption. It felt inevitable to me. I am sure the Han scene was most likely supposed to be a Leia scene but really life tragedy changed that. Leia getting through to him would have worked better for me. But despite Han looking weird, the scene worked for me still. I liked that it mirrored their only other conversation we saw them Have.

 

Ugh, we now have to deal with Ben and Rey being a romantic relationship for the rest of our lives. Thanks, TROS, I hate you.
