when it comes to these new movies i never really expect to like them more than Empire. It will always be my favourite movie and i'm okay with that

The nostalgia is too strong for me, so the OT will probably end up my favorite unless TROS can match or exceed TLJ.

I want every SW movie to be my favorite SW movie. Does it happen always? Nope, but i just cant go into a movie already thinking it wont be as good as a predecessor.

Probably not. Every part of the OT minus the weird hour between Jabba and the final battle in ROTJ is fantastic.

I don’t think anything will be better than OT when it comes to trilogies...except for LOTR

  6. Before Midnight, Toy Story, Bourne, Mission Impossible's last three...

I would put The Dark Knight trilogy up there as well.

It definitely has a chance for me. Only first watched/fell in love with the OG in early 2015 so don’t have the nostalgia factor. Despite 4/5 being top ten favorites for me, so is TFA and TLJ is my third fav movie of all time.

As much as I love ROTJ and has one of my fav endings/third acts ever, overall the movie probably only makes my top 50-70 range. Not that I need it to but if I love TROS more than ROTJ I think it will easily become my favorite trilogy of all time.

TDKR is average but BB and TDK are both so great that it makes up for it.

are we reading into any potential reasons as to why Mando is coming out on Wednesday and not Friday, like many others on the internet are, or are we simply assuming SW doesn't want to complete with itself on opening day or RoS?

Yea, I'm pretty sure it's just because this is coming out on Friday.

When we’re all of you exposed to Star Wars for the first time? I watched the theatrical re-release of ROTJ in 1997 and that’s what started it for me.

don't want people contemplating staying home to watch the Mando and catching TROS on a latter date i assume

  16. Also, warning for those avoiding spoilers, this week's Mandolorian will have an exclusive "sneak peek" attached.

They were some of the very first movies I remember watching, so the early 90s. I was already super into them when the rerelease came out and that started my family’s tradition of seeing everything at the first showing available.

I thought there was going to be a tie in to TROS other than the exclusive sneak peek. I actually came up with a theory, but don’t know how to do spoiler tags just in case it’s true.

the first time i saw them is weirdly my first memory. saw all 3 of the original movies when my uncle got the 1997 special editions on vhs. super excited that I am going to the marathon in theaters (only doing 4-6) so I can finally see these movies in theaters.

So, when's everyone going to see it? I have tickets for a 6:15pm screening on Thursday night. Can't wait!

Going to throw the most recent Apes trilogy in the conversation as well.

And for the Mandalorian coming out Wednesday, I’d say it’s definitely Disney not wanting to give Star Wars fans a reason not to go to the theater on Friday.

I have a very faint memory going to see them in the theater for re-release with my Dad and it awesome. Though I think it's more likely that I saw them at home first on VHS.
