I am sure they could, but I dunno. They're not doing it. Not the end of the world. Just get pumped for Rogue One?

Two years seems pretty reasonable to me to be honest.

I realize its reasonable to some but I think its generally at least close to unreasonable on paper when you look at the situation comprehensively

for me personally its annoying. rogue one hasnt excited me at all yet

I'm not feeling any crazy excitement either for it, but I think it's a good thing. Cause when I see something I wasn't exactly sold on and it winds up knocking it out of the park, I find it to be all around that much better of an experience. Prime examples are TFA and Stranger Things.

Lol at describing a two year production cycle on a big budget blockbuster as "unreasonable." That's about as short as it gets.

I'm sure these actors don't want to be pinned down for five years straight on one project

aren't all three of the trilogy basically being produced as one long movie, like LOTR was?

    Fight the long defeat.

More Star Wars more quickly seems desirable, but the risk of saturation is high enough as it is, especially with Anthology films filling the gaps. To expect delivery of a well-written, competently helmed, crafted Star Wars movie that frequently is a pretty demanding standard. If quality was no concern, I'm sure they could find a way to cut corners on time.

I am a casual star wars fan. You're ridiculous if you're gonna call me entitled for that.

I'm not writing death threats on twitter

Im simply saying it puts a damper on the hype for me personally. Also that the resources flowing through this films undertaking are the new apex and could put a dent in world hunger.

I didn't realize you had to make death threats, specifically on Twitter, to be considered entitled. Good to know.

and where is the hostility coming from? weird as fuck tbh

No, LotR was (for the most part) all filmed at once. These are being filmed separate; filming just wrapped for Episode 8.

No reason for anyone to be hostile but it's like you have no idea the amount of time it takes to make these movies. Not that they couldn't make it in a year and a half but it would be rushed and why would you not want to wait 6 months for a better product?

maybe even with a budget the size of a European nation's gdp it's still not possible (it shold be imho). that doesn't change how I involuntarily feel about my personal hype levels being affected by it. I definitely don't have first hand experience in the industry and neither do you but I bet that important conversations were had on the subject before settling on that time line and I would guess it was met with friction somewhere down the line internally

and you're all ignoring that it's a question of release scheduling and not solely production time lol

They have publically stated why it was pushed back. As you said, we don't have insider knowledge. So, we should go with what they said until otherwise informed. They stated it was to rework some characters, specifically adding in some that got a good reaction in TFA. Not release schedule issues.

that was never the point of my sentiment

anyways, interesting is that for ep 8 or RO? bc I had heard RO was pushed back

    ......

Anyway, that was about 8. As far as the public knows, rouge one was always meant to be this December. Episode 8 was initially announced for next May, but it was pushed back. RO had reshoots, like every major movie made these days, and people flipped out claiming the movie would be a mess. Yet everything released looks solid. But a trailer isn't the movie, so it could suck. But I think it'll be great.

I literally do not understand what you're trying to say. Ok, it diminishes your hype, that's fine. But don't act like that's the filmmakers' fault.

I can see that you do not understand. Who else would be at fault other than those making the film or working to set the release schedule

I wouldn't be surprised if the post-production is finished by May (when it was originally going to be released), but I don't mind waiting until December 2017. The mixed hype/vibe of TFA and Christmas and the other fall holidays was pretty cool.

Ugh. The problem is you're looking at it as their "fault" when there is no fault. This is normal for movies. Sorry they're not releasing them to your liking.

so it bothers you that someone would say there is fault there? ok
