i full on like all the main characters of Rogue One. and Jyn and Galens story are as strong as any in SW, with the added benefit of being more relatable on a socio and political level.

Rogue one rules and is easily one of my top 3 favorite star war movies

Yea, I feel the same. They reshot the ending and all that without Edwards.

Yeah I remember Edwards saying he got soo stressed with how the whole process went, especially with the reshoots, that he didn't want to do another Star Wars again

This is what did it for me. It felt very serious--a brutal struggle. A lot of characters were nuanced, not simply good or evil. You could really feel the utter desperation of the rebels and the overwhelming strength of the empire. It has arguably the best battle of the movies and is likely the most visually striking. Some poor choices were made, like with CGI Tarkin, but overall, I love it.

i said that they were ultimately good but there were multiple massive failures that clearly impacted how Luke felt about them and himself as a Jedi. Him wanting to end doesn’t mean they were evil. Just that ultimately their way lead to more harm than good. Which makes sense given the fallout Luke had to deal with his whole life. And while he thought it should end, even he couldn’t bring himself to torch the library tree. Despite his expressed anger and resentment, deep down he saw the good in it or at least the potential. And remember, his attempt was the Jedi trying again. It lead to disaster and darkness. Pretty easy to see why Luke thinks it’s fruitless to pursue. Not to mention we have now seen him start to train Grogu and forced him to choose between being a Jedi and his bond with Mando because attachments aren’t bad. But Luke’s attachments are what saved him and led him to doing what he does in ROTJ. So he goes out of his way to do the classic Jedi teaching on it for his students. Luke tried to continue the legacy of the Jedi. He went south. His reaction to it all makes total sense.

yea, TLJ was the last time I’ve been really excited about Star Wars. We didn’t know how good we had it.

im sorry, but what is easy about having your nephew turn on you into darkness and (until the comics decided to make it stupid and say Ben didn’t do it) murder all your other Jedi students? What’s easy about knowing you failed your nephew, sister, and best friend? Dude had trauma and hard times throughout his life. When his life got destroyed again he went into isolation. Living with that guilt is not easy. Which books are you even talking about? Regardless, I don’t care what the books say, the movies are what matters most and his thoughts and actions make total sense. No disrespect but I don’t care what Mark thinks. If he’s mad that he was isolated he should blame JJ as TFA is the movie who sent him away. TLJ just have a good reason for him to have done so. Mark just wanted to do a movie with him and his friends as the leads. Which is fine. It makes sense why he would prefer that. But that doesn’t mean that’s what should have been done here. Luke has not had it easy.

luckily TLJ succeeds on all fronts

Yea that was wild. It’s truly not that long.
The only character in Rogue One that is as likable as any of the OT cast was K2.

its funny because the point of K2 as a character is that he is unlikable lol

why? He is the comedic relief. Why would he be unlikable? Because he prioritizes his friend Cassian over people he just met? He ends up sacrificing himself for them. What’s not to like?

    hahahhahahahha

I’ve exhausted my appetite for debating TLJ, but I’ll just add my voice to those singing it’s praises.

I adore that movie and consider it head and shoulders above any SW movie since ROTJ.

Shoutout to the Solo movie, I feel like we never talk about that one but it's better than it had any right to be.

Solo is not “bad,” it just never should have been made. A completely unnecessary origin story that set its star up for failure and effectively torpedoed his career in the process. (Sound familiar?)

Replace Han, Chewie, and Lando with original characters and Solo was a good movie. The movie was fun, it’s just not Harrison Ford, Billy Dee Williams.

which part? if you want to actually argue about character writing then actually do it. or dont.

the prequels ruined yoda beyond repair. its one of their worst sins.
