On my 4th watch of this and I forgot how much I fucking love the shot of the iron

 

Lol, I actually didn’t notice the iron on my first two viewings and it took me completely off guard.

Love it.

 

Just rewatched it the other night for the first time, what is this 'iron' you speak of?

I am sick of talking about the polarizing fan reaction to the movie, but also 100% going to read that. I have a problem.

 

I prefer the idea that people just have different tastes when it comes to films and that there isn’t a political motive to disliking/liking The Last Jedi. At least among the people I associate with.

I’m not surprised that the small group of people that disliked the film (whether it was due to just not liking the film from an artistic view or from a political motive) influenced Russian to propogate distaste of the film. Ugh. Leave the films out of this political dabble, Russia. Please.

 

I am vindicated by science.

 

I wonder how much hate this movie would have got if Mark Hamill hadn't come out before it was released and talked so negatively about it. I still think that was a dick move on his part. Obviously everyone is entitled to their opinion and are free to express it, but he knows that millions of people hang on his every word when it comes to Star Wars and he essentially threw the entire production under the bus months before anyone even had an opportunity to see the movie.

 

Obviously Mark was paid by Russia. /s

He probably didn’t think his comments sounded as bad as others found them to be or he just didn’t want to be dishonest.

 

I don't know if I buy the Russia thing, so I've always thought this about Mark, haha

I think he should have at least had the respect for his writers, director, supporting cast, etc... to hold off on talking shit about it until after it came out.

 

He eventually did backtrack slightly on some of his comments and say that he respects Johnson’s idea of Luke. Mark might have been sitting on his own idea of Luke since 1983 so it’s more understandable why he felt like it. I agree that his comments, unless specifically asked, would have been better used as banter between him and friends instead of in front of journalists.
