lol. This level of commitment to hating a movie is honestly fascinating. So extremely dumb, but fascinating.

 

Normally when I don’t like a movie I just move on

 

Can someone give me a TLDR version of why it's so hated anyways?

 

My bad, they're totally open for women inclusivity

But all those other obstacles...

 

Right. So...eschewing all logic and reasoning and taking their desires seriously...are they then also suggesting that they’d like a remake of the impending episode IX which begins filming next month and is set to follow the current continuity? Because I mean at this point in pre-production...yeah you’d have to foot the bill for that too. And yeah, actors will have fulfilled their contractual obligations. They aren’t beholden to your shitty fan remake.

It must be nice to live so comfortably in delusion.

 

Imagine thinking you can make a better movie than Rian Johnson

 

The Screenslaver strikes again.

 

It basically boils down to criticizing the movie not for what it is but for not being exactly like theories they’ve built in their head

Oh and also lots of racist and sexist people

 

There are definitely legit reasons to dislike the movie (pacing is a little awkward in the middle, the humor can be a little jarring and not always well timed, too many subplots that aren't as focused or well thought out compared to the main storyline), but the people who HATE it generally seem to complain about the following:

Dumb Reasons:
- Luke is no longer a purely heroic character & hating on the Jedi for a good part of it
- Rey's parents not being a Kenobi or whatever
- Snoke getting no backstory
- New force powers/changing the force
- No lightsaber on lightsaber contact fight

Fucking terrible reasons:
- Too many women giving men orders
- Male characters doing most of the stupid or evil shit
- Rey is a Mary Sue
- Talks shit about rich people

 

I can agree Snoke having no backstory is lame, but not even close to being a reason to hate the movie. And those other reasons are just as stupid and sexist as I expected.

Why do people want the movie to just be exactly what they thought it would be? Where's the fun in that?

finally rewatched this again, thought it was even better. also this remake campaign is the most embarrassing shit of all time

 

Surprised nobody mentioned the fact Disney has cancelled all future spin offs. I’m assuming there’s a more dedicated SW thread that brought it up.

 

The link that they were all “put on hold” was posted in the Solo thread. I havent seen any confirmation that they were all canned definitely.

 

Yea, no one is saying they are cancelled.

 

Also, all the articles I have read about the movies being put on hold all try to lure the readers in with some sort of headline that suggests it’s all because of Solo’s “bomb” but then all go on to say that everything is being put on hold so they can focus all attention on Episode 9, which makes complete sense.

 

also exciting to think that it might soon be time for the official Ep9 thread, as I am sure we will get some sort of production announcement once they officially begin next month.
