Yeah I didn't really like it but it didn't ruin my life / i didn't try to ruin someone else's life over it

 

It seems silly but after all the hate I have an odd appreciation for those that can dislike the movie, disagree with creative choices and express it in a civil way. It’s oddly refreshing.

 

I wouldn’t count on it. It’s more of a problem with society. I agree with moderating disgusting comments tho. I get that you can’t just stop people from hating, but some of the shit I’ve seen just is not okay.

What's crazy is I don't think the trolls realize that if Disney hadn't bought Lucasfilm we probably would have never gotten another Star Wars movie, at least not anytime soon. It's like they would've rather had no new Star Wars movies than the 4(!) movies we've been blessed with since 2015.

 

Oh yea, it's for sure a deeper societal issue. I think social media being unable to moderate this stuff only helps this kind of crap grow.

 

I've heard so many actors and comedians say that when receiving hate and insults on social media, if they call out an individual and confront why they said it, the usual response is "Oh, no I'm actually a big fan of yours. I just didn't think you'd see my comment"... like what is going through their brains when they type these sorts of things in the first place?

 

i love seeing people awkwardly backpedal like that once they get called out
