Got my movie pass today! Gonna see this movie a billion times now.

 

I’m showing my kids TFA for the first time and after the Stormtroopers showed up my oldest asked me “Are the white dudes the bad guys?” It was beautiful

 

I liked the authors thoughts on midichlorians.

Being total bullshit and the Jedi knowing that. But trying to attach science to their religion in a way that validates their exclusive order.

My friend was over last night, and we kept having long discussions about this. Every time he said “plot holes” my eyes rolled into my fucking skull...

For real. Mark’s performance is so much better than we deserve. Even if some lines are a little too jokey for some, he didn’t write them.

 

The first time I saw it, I kind of just wanted the opening scene to over because I wanted to get to Luke ASAP. Now I can really appreciate it for being one of the best opening scenes in the series.

 

In the theater for round 4!

2017 was a dumpster fire. At least I loved this movie.

Hey, that article said almost exactly what I was trying to point out a few pages back! Although I wouldn't say "redeemed", it is nice that this latest movie has actually given some legitimacy to the inconsistencies of the prequels and sort of rounded it all out to where it actually makes sense (they still suck haha). The Jedi were awesome, then they got too arrogant around the time of the prequels and now here we are still trying to undo their mistakes.

 

How do they explain him touching Rey?

 

Also the fact that he got chopped in half with a lightsaber when one went through Luke's force projection

 

A fake out death is exactly the kind of lame "twist" I would imagine a lot of those cry babies actually enjoying and calling "good writing".

If, by some slim chance, that is even remotely true, I would hope they do much more with it than just "Psych! Not dead after all!"

Luke didn’t really ghost Jedi, he just did his latest disappearing trick

 

I teared up the first time. It was still powerful not knowing her identity.

 

From toys and early character names/descriptions, I knew of Paige and her connection to Rose and that she probably wasn’t gonna last long, but I had no idea about the necklaces which is what makes it so powerful to me. That’s a perfect example of show/don’t tell.

 

Had my first real life encounter with some people who did like this. One of them had solid criticism, but the other had one of the worst hot takes I've heard in a while... "Rose is worse than Jar Jar Binks".

I'm sorry to those of you who read that.

 

A friend of mine said at a party yesterday that although he loved it, its his least favorite of the last 3 because he thought the humor was weird.

I can kinda understand why people would say that, even if I personally loved the humor.
