Well they're both pretty good at spinning which is a pretty advanced technique

 

From what we know about Anakin/Kylo id say hell yes

okay i slept on it. im not a star wars guy and im definitely a sour puss when it comes to franchises in general so take my words with a grain of salt.

first off, i dont understand what star wars fans are complaining about how this movie ruined everything. I guess this the non obsessed in me talking, but I didn't think anything that groundbreaking really happened in this film to make you complain or cry that much. Some of the posts people have been sharing have been way over dramatic and hilarious to me.

but on the other hand, that's why i thought the movie was a 7/10 type flick. I didn't think anything that groundbreaking was really accomplished here and in fact, i thought ths was one of the more poor star wars movie in quite sometime. I thought the only parts i cared about were the ones involving Kyle and Rae..and with soooo many subplots, i feel like we didn't get enough of Poe (the best character). I thought the good guys overcoming the odds shtick got old pretty fast too.

I didnt think there was really anything to sink my teeth into this one.

So with that..i think star wars fans need to chill out...but i also dont see how this movie was "great" by any means.

All I remember were steel drums

 

Luke = Eli Manning (kinda dopey, makes bad decisions at times, defeats pure evil)
Rey = Russell Wilson (most exciting pick in a long time, mid-round player but very high ceiling, intangibles are through the roof)
Kylo = Ben Roethlisberger (early pick due to potential, an occasional victor, terrible human being, both named Ben)
Vader = Andrew Luck (best prospect in a decade, should have brought balance to the force, doesn't have an arm)
Yoda = Johnny Unitas (we all know they're the greatest but we're not exactly sure why)
Obi-Wan = Brett Favre (extreme longevity, one of the greatest but also with very questionable decisions)
Sidious = Tom Brady (this should be obvious)

The best thing about the movies has been Rey and Kylo Ten. Pairing them together for TLJ was so perfect, I don't know how it can be topped. If their connection continues, it'll just be rehashing this arc from the movie so I don't see that happening. Also, she literally shut the door on him.

I just need to see Kylo engaging with other characters besides giving orders. Maybe Luke can haunt him throughout episode 9.

 

So Aside from a Heavy focus on Daisy/Rey, more politics, the best lightsaber fight between Rey and Kylo, another thing I need for Episode 9 is John Williams.

That is a must. I literally cant imagine these movies (Especially a Saga film) without him. Rogue One was solid but it definitely suffered from not having him on it.

 

It's extremely fun that I legitimately have no idea what I want to happen in IX. No matter what happens, I feel like I'll be caught off guard, and that makes me so excited.

And yet it also makes me hate myself because I shouldn't be excited for IX when I've had barely any time to sit with VIII.

 

because of how TLJ ended, in a way that IX can literally go anywhere from here, I may go in fully blind. No trailers, no previews.

For those who did that with TLJ, how did it go? Were you glad you held out? Do you think it made the experience better?

 

I think I want to go in blind too. I've never done it before.

 

I think going in blind wouldn’t really benefit me. I like to have a trailer to give a little bit of what to expect so that it’s easier to digest instead of being in a constant state of shock in first viewing haha

 

Some of your guys 9 ideas kind of mentioned this, that if Rey kills kylo, she won’t be glad that she did it. Would be more of a tragedy than a “hell yes i whooped the bad guys ass!”

 

Let's talk about the aspect that Kylo could kill Rey in 9. What IF they went that way? Btw wtf happened to the Knights of Ren? lol

 

I hope the Jason/Thomas podcast comes out before the weekend. The TFA episode they did inspired like 2 additional trips to the theater, and I'd love to give that a listen before going back Saturday.
