It’s why, despite a fun third act, it can never be higher than any of the OT or 7, or now 8.

 

Just let it happen Jason. Rogue One was a mess of a plot... that last action sequence was fantastic tho.

 

Hard to give a ranking so early. This is probably top three with Empire and New Hope. We'll see though. Like a few have said, I'm just glad there's at least six of these movies now that I will enjoy watching any time.

Ok, so RO has the high ground. And Episdoe III foolheartedly still tries to do a backflip to attack it.

How do you think that is going to end?

 

RO gave us a goddamn Hammerhead Corvette space skull-bashing a Star Destroyer into another Star Destroyer so it gets a pass from me

 

RO mostly suffered from prequel syndrome where the characters felt like slaughter fodder.

Having said that... K-2SO is easily my favorite droid character

 

Seems like a win.

I disagree that it was a mess of a plot, but even taking that assertion at face value, it's still infinitely better than any of the prequels.

Rogue One had a simple straight forward plot. That wasn’t the problem.

Exactly. All the wind they are making here helps cool your rage down and allow you to finish the movie.

 

The third act of RO is so much better than anything in the prequels.

I will probably watch the prequels again within the year because I really havent seen them since they came out I think

I last saw the prequels when I was 12 or so, so admittedly trying to rank them is silly. They've probably aged super poorly.

 

I really really like Rogue One

its gorgeous and has amazing planets and aliens. seriously its sets and character designs were some of the very best of SW

I’m at the very beginning of trying to come up with it, and honestly, timeline-wise, I’m not sure yet. In a way it’s interesting, but in a way it’s the least interesting part of it to me. I’m more thinking of what’s the story going to be, who is it going to follow? What elements is it going to have? What kind of drama is in it? My head right now is more in that place. I haven’t really, really gotten into it. Right now I’m mostly excited by the potential and just starting to form little clusters of ideas of what it might become.

 

I honesty don’t remember the last time I saw the Prequels. I do remember the last time I saw RO; it was last December in theater.

 

The final act of RO is great

 

I'd be down with a series in the far future.
