Everyone is focusing on what Kylo said and ignoring what Rey said.

What’s up with that? Is it how the scene is played out? Was his description just more memorable?

Was this posted in here? Not sure, it's a week old but I kept forgetting to watch it after I actually saw the movie.

I believe that line is referring to “the girl” he heard had helped BB8 escape Jakku.

His description was more memorable. Also most of the people saying that she must still actually be somebody are, I think, in a bit of denial.

This isn't to say that JJ won't walk it back in IX, because he very well could. But, much like Luke's father having been definitively killed by Darth Vader at the end of IV, the definitive truth as of now is that Rey's parents were nobodies. Which is more narratively and thematically satisfying anyway, so I really hope JJ doesn't undo it.

That makes sense... but it seemed of greater importance at the time. Maybe Snoke just knew someone "light" was out there to balance Kylo's "darkness", and was just waiting for her to appear.

damn thats awesome. I just started watching this year. I think Ken betraying Cushing and going to the Lions den shocked me more than anything in the last jedi lol it broke my heart.

And me as well. So many fun matchups and nowhere close to what I thought theyd be.

Snoke said that he assumed it was going to be Luke.

The fact that he gets her to admit makes me think that there is nothing else to this

Yea, I was shocked. That’s the match I’m most looking forward to. It’s gonna be 30 minutes of questions and whoever has the most points at the end wins.

Must've missed that. Gotta go back for another viewing ASAP.

one of the first things I thought too. I have a feeling JJ had a more significant reason for that. Because he had already met her at that point. "It is you" was a revelation he had after she grabbed that lightsaber specifically. I agree with you about knowing the opposite light side and realizing it was her. Good call

I realize that, I just wanted to be able to see what they said in relation to what actually happened. Their fake theory videos/joke reviews are always enhanced by having actually seen the movie they're about, I think.

If I could just forget it

I do sort of wish the first line in the film was "We're going to Han's funeral, you coming?"

Isn’t the “it is you” on Tokadana? Spelling is off, for sure haha

  17. Same, dumb fan theories be damned. Her coming from "nothing" is my favorite part of the movie. Anyone can be a hero. The Force doesn't belong to anyone, or one family. Rey, the stable boy ... it can be a "nobody" that does something great.

If I remember correctly, he says it when Rey uses the force to grab the lightsaber on star killer base, not during their first encounter.

Wait so no wheel round, number choice round, or anything? now that I think that is what they did earlier this year at celebration. I guess thats better and more accurate to find the best. That wheel round is always fun though.

Loved Scrimshaw, SWExplained dude and Steele Saunders in the 5 way. Hope they continue to do it in the future.

So what are the best podcasts where the people don’t whine about “how shitty the movie is”

Force Center always finds a positive way to review parts of Star Wars that aren’t necessarily great. They will critique it, but their idea is to celebrate Star Wars, not bash it.

Well its not in the movies. Its in the novelization. on takodana he says "the girl ive heard so much about" then "it is you" is on SK base when she force grabs the saber
