Alot of this movie was extremely self aware and these are great examples of it.

That iron scene was straight ludacris.

That the movie knows that Star Wars is ridiculous and that that ridiculousness is funny is not new, but it does take it further. The one liners kinda break some convention for this universe though and thats a sort of tongue in cheek trope we hadnt yet seen a whole lot of in the series prior to the best of knowledge.

Solos famous pre-cryo freeze line is the big one I remember.

Pablo Hidalgo has said in the past that deleted scenes are canon unless they contradict the main storyline.

 

I just had a co-worker tear into it with the most knit-picky shit. I love debating film, but the nerd culture behind this takes the fun out of it.

 

I love Ken too, but it broke my heart seeing him go to the Lions Den. I know its all show but I still want Sam Witwer to kick his ass in the schmoedown

 

I am clearly old and not the target audience. I found that actually painful as fuck to watch. Takes too long to say anything at all, and says it weird (it's a bad script), and there's no reason for it to be a video. It shows nothing but static images and dude badly talking into a camera.

Yeah most of my friends are this way too. One saying the fact that the Star Destroyers/the fleet not being able to catch up to the Resistance ships basically ruined the movie for him.

 

I like that people debate this a lot.
