Yeah this is crazy to me too. I went in praying Luke wouldn't "die" and came out thinking what a great end to his story it was. Iconic moment. I loved how there was a kind of "never meet your heroes" element to Rey and Luke too.

Also, I'm glad Kylo Ren didn't find the light and team up with the resistence, like man you killed your dad, I couldn't forgive that lol

Getting fed up for being assumed to be a troll because I didn't like a movie. For all the butt-hurt people who are hating on the movie there's also butt-hurt people who can't accept that other people didn't like it. *shrugs* I have an all-time favourite movie that I absolutely love and is a really critically acclaimed film too but if someone told me they didn't like it I wouldn't say they clearly didn't understand it and tell them why they're wrong. The movie just wasn't for them.

I have no agenda against TLJ, I love TFA and I was expecting this to be even better, and I wanted it to be. Why not take the sensible approach and say we only listen to the people who are discussing it civilly and sanely and out of those people there are still tons of people who don't like it. I work in a cinema and out of the 5/6 people I've got opinions on the film with only 2 said they really liked it. And they were just casual fans/moviegoers I work with. Like geez the whole discussion of the film is so off putting I don't even want to bother coming in here to talk about it. Why can't people on both sides just be comfortable with their opinion that they don't need force it others? Rant over.

PS. I walked in to the film today while I was working and saw the lightspeed scene again and was still as awesome as the first time.

The stable kids acting out with the action figures, was a great touch, and than the whole shot with the boy holding the broom and glancing across the sky.

With hindsight, it works because “Luke” shows up to stall for extra time so Rey can move some rocks. In the moment, that gun is the difference between life and death for the resistance. It SEEMED like a worthy sacrifice, and I don’t see how that sacrifice had anything to do with “killing what you hate”. I like this movie a lot and it didn’t ruin anything, just seemed like a misstep.

I love that it’s pissing so many people off, honestly. The film was so unique, original, risky, weird, and all those other superlatives that of course a ton of people hate it.

The Internet, 2015: “TFA is just a REHASH of ANH! Do something different!”

::Rian Johnson delivers TLJ, a wonderful film and unlike anything this franchise has ever seen before::

Also The Internet, 2017: “BRING BACK JJ! THIS SUCKS!”

I’m gonna wear out the skin on my fingers from kissing them so much.

The conversation here isn't about people not being allowed to dislike the movie. What's being discussed is that there seems to be a corner of the internet hellbent on making this movie look awful by trolling review aggregators because they were personally offended by it (which is silly). There appears to be evidence of this when you look at a lot of the 0 star audience reviews. Take a sample of them and you'll find most of those reviewing members only just joined those sites and have only one review in their account history (a negative one for this movie).

If the movie doesn't work for you, it doesn't work. That's not a problem.

Yeah and I guarantee there were tons of people who gave it 10/10 before seeing it too, or saw it and thought it was good and gave it a 10/10 to boost the score up anyway. Works both ways. Like I said you should form general opinions by talking with people and even by talking to people you can see a lot of people didn't like it, you don't need a RT score to tell you that.

The film did not make me angry at all, the conversation about the film does. Not even going to respond to the replies about the use of butt-hurt because oh what a contribution they are.

  15. Seriously though stop saying butt hurt.

He is. I'm okay with it because there's still somethings he set up that I'd like to see come into play, like the Knights of Ren and some sort of back story for Snoke (I loved his death, but I still want some in film explanation as to where he came from). Plus I think Rian introduced enough new ideas that he won't be able to make it a straight forward as you'd normally expect.

I'd be mad if he changed Rey's parents though.

  18. I mean after two warnings about that kinda shit I’m gonna end up booting you if you continue. Knock it off. It’s homophobic and messed up.

  19. I think I read Rian was the one that had him put the Knights of REN in TFA. Might be wrong though. Thought I remembered that.

You're going to ban someone for saying a word which is not a swear word or offensive even though swear words are allowed on the site anyway? Okay.

Would you still feel like that if I was someone who liked the film? Like really, wow.

Makes sense. I don't think he would have Luke mention that Kylo took a handful of his other padawons for no reason.
