I heard somebody on Collider say Jedi Heisman and me and my friend lost it. I want a picture/video of that

People expecting "badass" but don't see how amazing it was for the cut to Luke fucking floating sitting cross legged projecting himself is one of, if not the most badass things to happen in Star Wars. Shows his power, his wisdom, and his creativity and understanding of the force.

I've said it but I'll say it again, that entire sequence, specifically that cut, was the price of admission for me.

That has to be it, honestly. It's like they quit watching it once they realized Luke wasn't going to pull out his lightsaber and kill all the bad guys.

Lol I love the person who goes "I love you" and he just replies "I know."

His summary for Luke losing faith in the Jedi by using the light for lethal force is spot on.

This movie is a phenomenon. The hate its getting is proof that this isn't just some movie. Its not factory produced. It wasnt made with only intention of making money. Its not just a blockbuster.

This is art. Its not safe. Its not predictable. Its controversial. Its interpreted differently. It provokes discussion. It produces intellectual conversation (if you are capable of such a thing). Its imperfect. It talks about real life issues. It changes every time you see it. It gives you things you cant forget. Images you cant unsee. Words thats stick with you . Moments that will last with you.

Rian is an artist. And the fact that hes getting so much hate proves as such.

I hope that he can handle that negative attention he will get from this unlike many true artists before him and let it not affect him wanting to do Star Wars anymore or not affect his creative decisions going forward. He is what movies need.

Having had it sit for 3 days I want to see like again ASAP.

  13. It’s the best “take” on the movie I’ve seen yet. By far.

Just watched it. Avoided all spoilers and discussions and everything. Here’s my initial thoughts:

-first hour seemed very disorganized and all over the map. Then the Kylo/Snoke/Rey scene happened and I couldn’t give any shits about any negative thoughts I had before. That scene rules and everything after was solid.

    - Adam Driver is fucking glorious. His character is so complex, confused, and lost. He nails it.

    - The zoom in on dem nipples feeding Luke his glass of fluid was DEF needed.

I rewatched Rogue One last week and it didn’t hold up that well imo. The flaws were much more apparent since the last time I saw it (and I really liked it when it came out)

My cousin just posted a three part blog on why this isn’t a good movie. He asked me to write a rebuttal, I said ok, and then wrote “you didn’t understand it”

If I could just forget it

Just got out of this. Why does Rey care so much about the resistance all of a sudden? I thought she was curious about her parents. It was weird watching her try to sell the resistance to Luke. How many capital ships will the empire lose before they realize capital ships are a bad idea? Great acting all around, and I really enjoyed the exploration of the force, but can it be told against a different backdrop? So tired of seeing the same stuff over and over again.
