When I first saw TFA I was like “dammit my dude Domhnall is baaad in this” then I realized he wasn’t bad, his character is just a major dick. Like he plays that weasel, smarmy character sooo well. Honestly I’m of the opinion that Domhnall Gleeson should be in everything ever, along with his dad.

Seriously! Like this is the worst take yet on this movie. C’mon!

Yeah I don’t get the Holdo hate. She was awesome. She was right to keep the plan secret cause she didn’t want the plan to get out. If Poe would have trusted her, things would have worked out much better. Also Laura Dern is such a great actor. Like I would support Laura Dern in everything ever made.

Do it! I just got done a week ago. Someone on here said they didn’t think Holdo matched her character in that book... but I think so. She felt like who that character would grow up to be. Definitely a good book!

Also sorry for quoting you so many times haha I just continuously agree with your takes on this. Throughout today I’ve decided I don’t mind the Leia Force pull at all. Only thing I don’t like is the casino stuff. I honestly wish they would have kept him in a coma or something throughout this movie. But that woulda made people mad too haha

My timing may be off, but both TFA and TLJ seemed to have happened in less than a week. Does anyone know the time frame?

I hadn’t even thought of this. TLJ even takes place in under 24 hours then, yeah?

I think they go through a few day/night cycles on the island but definitely no more than a week.

I haven’t! I actually hadn’t even heard of it till now and just looked it up? Worth checking out? I like both him and Thomas Hayden Church a lot.
Yeah I think seeing it again my solidly my feelings on things more. I might go tonight cause my wife is working a grave and I won’t have anything to do.

Guess that’s what’s confusing. Rey clearly spends a few days in her timeline. But from the time the dreadnaught is destroyed, the Rebel cruiser only has 16 hours of fuel or something like that. But Kylo is clearly in the 16 hour timeline and the multiple day timeline?

I'm extremely happy with the reveal of Rey's parents. That was the best possible outcome. I love that she came from nothing.

  13. I mean, it's not good. But it's them being absurd and ridiculous and I laughed and enjoyed it more than I should for what it is.

Another thing that doesn’t work for me is that this movie expects me to root against Brienne of Tarth and that simply is never going to happen ;)

So i just popped my head into this for a minute today and it was the part where Leah gets blown out of a ship, floats through space like she's dead, then opens her eyes and fucking flies back inside the ship. Without spoiling anything, since I'll hopefully be seeing this tomorrow, do they justify that somehow? I went from "Oh fuck this is gutsy!" to "are you fucking kidding me?!" in seconds. Thought it was incredibly stupid.
I should just hold off commenting until I see it, but it bothered me enough

This is by far the most controversial scene in the movie.

  24. I mean, you can't answer this without spoiling the movie. But if you already read this thread, you spoiled the movie. Hah.

She uses the Force. Yeah, it's "explained" in that sense. She feels it coming, prepares herself, and then saves herself. And then is basically in a medical bed for a good portion of the movie.

  25. I think the casino scene is more controversial. The Leia moment is like 20 seconds? I don't really get the controversy. All I read sounds like people didn't like her outfit. Heh.
