I actually don't believe this happened.

Groups of people laugh at the dumbest things. I truly do not believe there was silence at the jokes in this movie with a room full of people.

 

I haven't seen him post any thoughts yet.

 

I’ve heard groups of people laugh at the trailers for the new Jumanji and Daddy’s Home 2. I’m on your side haha

 

just remembered when Kylo starts asking her to join him so they can rule together after the throne room fight, and she says "kylo don't do this" it's such a crushing and emotional scene, because she thought she had finally gotten somewhere with him. i cannot praise their acting enough in this.

 

So I just had an idea that ill be in the minority about but I wouldve loved if DJ's character was replaced with Hondo from Clone Wars and Rebels. his character was basically hondo with the only caring about money not caring about sides. you couldve had Benecio dressed up like that. Lose the stutter. Hondo is so much funnier, its not like you wouldve had to watch anything prior to understand him, just like DJ, and it wouldve made sense why he was in jail too.

I dont need everything to be interwoven. I like new characters, but DJ was such a throw away it wouldve been more fun, and wouldve given the fans of the shows something really special.

 

Exactly. And people biologically laugh when others laugh. The idea that there was silence to the jokes in this, I flat out don't believe is possible.

 

Evidently JJ pitched Bob Iger the story for Ep 9 this morning. Crazy he already has something.

 

Awesome. Bring it on.

 

In another life I would have loved to just write movies. Haha.

 

Especially with how this story feels like a brand new start. How do you end something that feels like a whole new saga is about to start.

its so crazy how much my opinion changed of JJ on 9. I initially was like disappointed. I was happy it wasnt Trevorrow but still bummed. Now im so happy hes doing 9 and cant wait for him to finish what he started.

 

Well, it happened so I don’t know what to tell you. Some of the jokes (Luke saying that Jakku is literal nowhere, the two incidents between Rey and the nun creatures, and the first scene with Finn and Rose) were met with laughter, but the majority of humorous moments didn’t receive anything other than silence. I was more amused with most of the humor, so I didn’t laugh but I cracked a smile. ƪ(˘⌣˘)ʃ

 

That’s currently my favorite scene in the Sequels. Daisy and Adam have great chemistry.

 

I've been tempted to do something just for fun since I clearly have the time lol.

 

Are we just not blocking spoilers now? I wanna type out my thoughts but I’m on mobile. I’ll just say I loved it and have only minor complaints. This is a top 3 SW movie for me.

 

Just saw that the critic score on RT is 93 and audience score is 56. Sounds about right.

The more I think about this, it keeps getting worse and worse. It’s so disappointing.

 

Y’all know how’s much I hate rankings right!?

I've had the opposite reaction since last night, the more I think about it the more I like it minus the Finn/casino arc.

(I agree with the critics score far more than I do the troll driven audience score. But I also think "scores" are dumb.)

 

I love the inclusion of the (negative) reviews from the NYT and People for the ESB. It will be interesting to see the perception of this movie change as time goes on (bc as history would suggest, that most likely will).

 

I just wish they’d committed to a single stake. Will they fail to take out the dreadnaught? Will Rey go to the dark side? Will the empire blow up all the rebel transport? Will Finn die to take out the cannon? Will Luke survive?* It just really bothers me how many times the stakes were set and then let off.

(I agree that critics generally get it right. But I’m also strongly of the opinion now they got it wrong here. Scores are weird/dumb.)

 

I’ve tried to write screenplays before, it’s such a pain in the ass haha

 

I'd be really good at the "let me read it and show you what's wrong and help fix it" guy. I'd find the holes, issues, and poorly thought out stuff early. I want that job. Let me read and fix scripts.

 

More studios need this
