Trust me, I get it. I’m 25 and this current semester is my first at a university. Life happens. I’m an English Education major with an emphasis on rhetoric and composition. We’ll both be in the liberal arts department for most of our classes. I’m still learning the ropes, but pm me if you have any questions.

I love those jackets -- the Rogue One jackets released last year were pretty awesome too. Too much $ for me though ha

Eh, I just heard the first two words on a podcast before I could skip forward. Oh well, I figured they wouldn’t reveal much, if anything, but I just don’t need to know anything else.

But I’m also popping back in to say they released some new 3.75 inch action figures. Now, these aren’t necessarily spoilers, as most of them were expected or make sense. But they had a few unexpected new ones, in my mind, that could hint to something in TLJ. But with that said, one of the unexpected ones do not fit in my theory at all, so I’m probably wrong.

But here are the new ones I saw (I bought most of them)

-Luke in a cloak with his cane as seen with his Funko Pop
-Rey in “poncho” with her saber
-Leia (first TLJ toy of her in this series)
-DJ listed as Canto Brite(sp?) outfit
    -Yoda
    -Old Ben
    -Jyn Erso

Obviously I thought the Old Ben and Yoda one’s could mean an involvement in some way, but Jyn clearly doesn’t fit that at all. Probably just a couple fan favorite figures.

where would i be if i was my brain Prestigious

How does everyone else feel about all the red surrounding Rey in posters and ads. Are they misdirecting the audience?

They certainly want us to think the dark side is an option...

i would say there is a 300% chance they are trying to misdirect you, especially with the way she is portrayed in some of the trailers/tv spots. there's one tv spot where you see luke saying the "this is not going to go the way you think" and then it immediately cuts to her in a shot that looks like shes standing over him in the rain and she ignites a saber. not to mention the possible major misdirection at the end of the main trailer with what looks like her talking to kylo about "showing her her place in all this."

Some people claim one of those shots of Rey is in reverse and such, too. Don’t trust advertisements. Haha

Didn't know where to put this, assuming the Disney/20th Century Fox deal goes through, would Disney ever rerelease the original theatrical cuts of IV,V, and VI? I know they're particular on canon and the special editions are canon now (I think) but they also reallllly like money.

If that deal goes through (which, ugh, Disney owns enough so I hope it doesn't), they need to put that 20th Century Fox opening back in front of these movies. It's the one thing I miss about the opening.

Hmmm... for me, I’m okay with it being gone. I learned that not having a crawl bothers me way more than the Fox fanfare.

Still think that was a mistake to not have one for Rogue One.

    yeah good okay Prestigious

Yeah that sudden opening in Rogue One is pretty jarring. I still enjoyed it but it was weird

I'm pretty okay with non-trilogy movies not having a crawl. Didn't bother me in Rogue One.

It didn’t ruin the movie, but I think it was a mistake, personally.

Any chance Billie Lourd gets handed off the baton so to speak from Leia and becomes a prominent role for episode 9 and/or 10,11,12 in the future?

I think the "episodes" should also have the crawl, swipe edits, a trilogy-centric structure, that same main theme, etc. But, I really like the "stories" breaking with that tradition. I like the freedom that allows them, even though Rogue One didn't do that much with its freedom.

I don’t think having a crawl really effects the freedom the movie can have beyond that.

The crawl itself demands an opening info dump, the main Star Wars theme, and the opening shot being stars against black, though. Which, is something I love, but it doesn't fit every story, and I love the idea of films outside of the "episodes" telling a range of stories.

Like, if we ever get an Obi-Wan film, I'd love it to start with a quiet desert scene, with either soft or no music playing, without any context of where we're jumping in. That has a very different feeling that I want to be an option going forward.
