First look revealed at People.com, figure it's probably time for a thread.

    Think Star Wars x Amblin.

here for it if done right. heard a supposed "insider" say it's not testing well so far - not that it's outright bad, but that it's creatives might be worried about its reception with the broader public. still intrigued though.

That makes me almost more interested, that it may be something aiming for a specific audience/taste, versus something bland for everyone.

same. despite how it eventually comes across, i'm down for more risks being taken

TBH, quality looks pretty high; much better than Acolyte at least. Will give it a shot

it's funny to see the suburbs in a Star Wars universe

kid actors haven't had the best track record so I'm cautiously optimistic

This definitely is aiming at kids and families, which honestly good? Like yeah, they gotta tie a Jedi into it because them the rules but it’s nice to see them try something different and make what looks like a fun Lost In Space/Goonies style adventure show in the universe. I’m definitely interested in this and curious to see how it turns out because it does have some promise in there.

I would hope, given that these kids are the focal point of the entire show, they’d pay more attention to their acting capabilities than the kids in The Acolyte. A Goonies style adventure story set in the Star Wars universe is right up my alley because I’m a sucker for the coming of age genre so I’m hopeful. I’ve been looking forward to this one since, I think last summer when that first teaser leaked.

I want to see a Star Wars comedy where someone uses the force by accident and they’re freaking out because they don’t know what or how they did it. Just set in the universe but they don’t know anything about Jedi or Sith.

Back on topic, this looks really fun.

i wasn't aware the teaser leaked back then. is it similar to what was released last night?

The interesting part of Disney owning the brand is that they can literally make all kinds of different media in various styles set in that universe to really flesh it out but they just keep tying everything to the main plot so it becomes moot. Like what entices me about this is that it appears to be a story about kids being lost in space and trying to get home, which is much more interesting than yet another tired ass segment of the Skywalker saga. You got this cool universe, use it.

say what you will about The Acolyte, but i'm very glad it exists since it's removed from the existing Filoni-verse/New Republic era. to that end, as risky as a concept like Skeleton Crew can be, i'm excited to see how it plays out, but i'm also hoping it's not too reliant on the interconnectivity of this time period (since it overlaps with The Mandalorian).

I think it was, yeah. It was rough to hear anything because it was one of those fan videos recording the screen in a hall full of screaming fans, but I do remember that a lot of the shots looked familiar and the overall Amblin vibe of this new trailer is exactly what I felt from that teaser and that had me excited. I didn’t even realize there was this, like, backlash to it until I found other corners of the internet full of the usual toxic Star Wars fandom that really bummed me out.

just found it on Dailymotion. the only big difference i noticed other than some alternate shots and restructuring is that the leads' parental figures seem to be more prominent in that version.

Thinking about child actors and I literally cannot imagine being that young and having any kind of patience, work ethic, or literally anything that you might need to be professional and not, y'know, a kid.
