Pure Noise is just scooping everyone up. Really hoping for a Seeyouspacecowboy/Spanish Love Songs tour now.

 

This song rules, glad to get some new stuff from them so soon! Wish they would have went to Epitaph instead but oh well

I think a lot of the links and discussion about it are lost with AP.net, but the short version is that the founder went to great lengths, including directly lying to Jason and other sites, to downplay and cover up sexual assault by one their bands’ members.

 

Yeah and it started when they signed that band No Good News that had that scumbag Harry Corrigan in it.

 

I vaguely remember that. That's super fucked.

 

I just got into these guys a couple of days ago and last night I was thinking about Pure Noise has been snatching up all these new hype bands. Pretty diverse (and good) line up of bands. Good for SLS these guys need more ears on their music.

 

SeeYouSpaceCowboy, Year of the Knife, Graduating Life, Inclination now these guys. I guess that Knocked Loose money is nice.

 

They also just signed the whole Mom Jeans crew of bands. Lot of money

 

Wish it was epitaph but happy for SLS, love the new song

Good to see they're moving up in the world but as nice as signing with a label like PNR is, I've always been iffy about supporting that label since the Harry Corrigan/No Good News incident. Add to that that one of their biggest bands's frontman never apologised for physically assaulting a fan on two separate occasions on stage, and... yikes. Happy for Spanish Love Songs but... ehhhhh.

e: I'm OK supporting these guys going forward but I'm doing it for THEM and not their label.

If I, for example, buy merch from them when I see them next month. That normally goes right to the band right? Pure Noise wouldn’t get a cut of that? Or do we just not know?

 

Yeah, that generally directly supports the band.

 

The majority would go directly to the band, if not all of it.

Ready to feel super proud when this band gets big. Not stopped listening to them for the last 6 months. Got tickets to see them play back to back shows next months. Cannot wait.

 

Two nights in a row after Dave Hause the night before is going to exhausting

 

The Wonder Years is my favorite band, I have a tattoo of their imagery on my leg, and if you ask me what my favorite record of theirs is, I might tell you it's Sister Cities depending on the day.

All of that being said, Schmaltz was still my favorite record of 2018. That's how impactful and important that record is to me. I, too, wish they'd signed to a different label, but I'm so, so, so ecstatic to see this band get some new opportunities. Absolutely love the song, too.

 

Pure Noise have signed quite a few bands with female members recently, way more than other similar labels. Maybe they're trying to be better
