Discussing with a friend, I don't know if it's a deliberate intertextuality but the "fuck the garden and the yard / I can barely tend to my own dreams" line does make me think of TWY's The Hum Goes On Forever which uses that imagery throughout.

 

Not deliberate, but Dylan did mention that connection in the Patreon Discord and thought it was funny that "Clean Up Crew" was Dan's favorite song on the album.

 

This might be one of their best songs imho.

 

What the hell this song is amazing. They’re 2/2 on pre released songs and I can easily see this being their best album and right up there on my AOTY list when all said and done.

 

This is incredible, like this way more than Haunted.

Yeah, this song hit me immediately. Haunted did not, but grew on me over the past few weeks.

This album is going to fucking destroy (Lifers is also very, very good).

 

This is so great. Album is going to be amazing.

Man that is an ear worm. Haunted was a grower, but this one is an instant classic.

 

This isn't hitting as immediately as Haunted for me, but it's a great tune and I know it'll only grow on me

 

I didn't really see The Killers comparison on Haunted, but I definitely do now.

 

Soupys praise of this song had me very intrigued and yeah this is fantastic.
