The "woah oh" chorus only could have been written by Andrew? Really? For how personal it is, it seems so much more by the numbers than most of his songs. "Maps for the Getaway" feels like a way more poignant song about family and his life post-cancer. I think it delves way, way deeper.

 

I don't really consider the "oh oh" part of the song to be the chorus, but the way that melody plays with the piano line underneath is quintessentially Andrew.

And the way it brings in the space/sky imagery that's stretched throughout his work, hearing him talk about how personal the song is to him and his story about having a kid, etc. Perfect song. 10/10.

To each their own. I think it’s one of the three or four weaker songs on the album, but I know a lot of people love it. Just not my favorite.

I'm by no means saying Maps is a bad song, I just put it below Cecilia. But I put everything on this album below Cecilia and seeing it go out in the first round would be heartbreaking.

The only song on this album I don't like is "See Her On the Weekend".

 

I love Maps...such a good song. I'm also a little biased because we did a big road trip over the summer and the song kinda just felt right to listen do while doing that haha

These songs are all fine, but I don't have much emotional attachment to them really and this isn't an album that I revisit often.

 

Fix this.

 

Fix what? Like I said, I think it's fine but that's about it.

 

The only song that ever stuck out to me on this was Cecilia

 

Yeah I have no idea how it happened but that song is now cursed for me (and you).
