Damn I didn't realize there was a 3rd one next week. I thought the three were dispersed throughout the tour.

They join up in Houston I believe according to the tour poster, but the Dallas venue has them listed.

Any ideas on a Set It Off setlist, or the 2nd part of Simple Plans set? Curious if it's identical to the first leg or not. SIO appeared to be playing a slightly different set on their tour with One Ok Rock.

Simple Plan was the same as the European tour but they played this song save my life instead of summer paradise.

Ah ok, so pretty much the same as what they were playing at the end of the 1st leg. Did they play Jet Lag? That one got dropped somewhere during the first US leg.

The Houston show has been postponed due to the hurricane. I really hope Austin can go on as planned tomorrow.

Edit: the Austin show is postponed as well.

The Bottom Line (new opener on the tour) seems to have had a rough go so far. The first two shows on the tour they were supposed to play were canceled (hurricane), and they said today their van broke down and they had to hitchhike to Vegas. They were using some of Patent Pending's equipment.

    Set times were:
    6:00 - Doors
    6:50 - The Bottom Line
    7:30 - Patent Pending
    8:15 - Set It Off
    9:20 - Simple Plan

Show was amazing. Had a great spot close up. Lead singer of Set It Off jumped off stage and held the mic up to my mouth during Forever Stuck In Our Youth. Pretty dope night! Also it was David's birthday so since he wasn't there, Pierre had us sing happy birthday to him.

Houston and Austin have been rescheduled for November 29th and 30th. Hit The Lights and Patent Pending are opening the shows.

One of the hardest working bands out there and I hear they're pretty big in the UK. I'm surprised they've never made it big in the US since Cheer Up Emo Kid was a pretty big song during the PureVolume days.

agree completely. I used to go see them playing in bars and bowling alleys all the time when they were just coming up here on long island. they never did quite get there, but have put out some catchy music.

I always caught them playing North NJ shows. Super humble and a lot of potential but they never got to the next level for whatever reason. Maybe it's me but I wonder if Michael stayed in the band, would they have gotten further? I know both him and Joe were like co-lead singers but Michael had that vibe while Joe was the mouthpiece.

I think their main issue was they put WAY more effort into touring in the UK than they did here. When they "toured" in the US, they barely went off the East Coast. It's crazy because they have a decent following in the UK (can probably pull 500 or so people a night). If they toured here as much as they did there, I think things would have been different for them. I don't think Michael leaving hurt them though, if anything they drew more in the time after he left than when he was in (at least in my experience).

Obviously many factors contribute to that (most likely touring in the UK and getting a larger draw was more money than doing a 2 week stint here drawing less than 100 or so people a night), and it probably made the most sense financially, but it definitely didn't help.

I don't think Mike leaving helped or hurt. Joe was always the one giving interviews or things of that nature anyway, and he's one of the nicest dudes you could meet. I think by the time they got "big", or bigger at least, and were playing warped tour regularly and getting good support spots on big pop punk tours, Mike had already left the band.

Very true. Outside of the East Coast, they did a lot of support tours with bands that drew well but had different fanbases. Another option could be label support. I know that We Put Out is an imprint of Warner but I think they could've done better with Hopeless. As far as Michael is concerned, he left right before they peaked in the US so I'm not too sure if they would've had a better future with him. The one thing I do know is that they lost something when he left. Not sure what but they weren't the same in my opinion.

Michael left in 09 so he was apart of the bigger tours and the Bamboozles. The one thing he didn't do was the Billboard appearance.

Edit: Like I said above, I'm not sure if they would've had a better future but something definitely changed in their live shows.

Mike and their bassist Drew left I believe around the same time, I remember them sounding a lot more punk than "pop punk" on their old demos and remembering their live performances when the original band was in tact. They went full on pop punk once Joe took over the leads and they brought in some new guys. Not a bad thing but, their sound definitely changed after Mike left.

I loved the horn section in the original demo/recorded version of Cheer Up Emo Kid, the newer version just doesn't do it for me haha

come to think of it, they used to have a much larger ska sound in older recordings. the old version of Decemberween is allll ska-based riffs.

Decemberween was such a solid song! Very ska influenced mixed in with pop punk and even that little breakdown they did all worked perfectly!

Live album "No Pads, No Helmets... Just Balls (15th Anniversary Tour Edition)" coming out April 6th.

It's up for pre-order on iTunes, I'd expect an announcement soon.

Are we sure it’s a live album and not just an anniversary re-release? It includes some live versions as bonus tracks, which seems weird to include if the album itself is live. Also, they played Grow Up before Perfect at every show and it does not appear in that order here.

Was thinking the same thing. Would be weird to brand it as a “tour edition” and only have two live songs though.

Also weird considering the 15th anniversary of this album was LAST YEAR...but who's paying attention.
