the tempo shift is cool but man i absolutely hate it when people use synth bass tone like that

 

Drums on this are so much fun. Not a fan of the effect. Just comes off annoying.

The song is okay. I think it would be better without that much talkbox. It's fine for a moment but it's a bit much on this song.

I am curious for the Dream at Tempo - songs.
Probably interludes?

the talkbox effect is alright, i don't really find it too annoying, except i wish it was a little quieter... can hardly hear the guitar over it. good and catchy song though, loving the drums on this! they've never released a bad album so i'm very excited for this!

Back to Swoon and NOTW for me, I suppose.

 

Vinyl package looks sweet as hell which is a shame. Maybe this is an outlier and not an indication of how the record will sound as a whole?

 

Also, SSPU at Fox Theater in Oakland was the last show I saw before the stay home mandate went into effect. Looks like they will be playing there again for their upcoming tour which is cool.

 

Didn't care much for it on first listen, but felt better about it on my second. Hoping it will be a grower, but definitely my least favorite lead single from them.

 

Alone on a Hill is a really good song. I like it more than the first single.

 

Really glad they quickly followed up the release of their worst song with a top notch one. So good. Nice to hear another Nicky fronted one.

 

About halfway through my first listen (down unda), starts kinda slow but Hidden Moon is a banger

 

Excited. They really have never let me down

 

Not gonna lie, pretty let down by this. Easily the bottom of their discog for me.

 

Damn, not what I was hoping to hear. Scared Together has grown on me a bit, and Alone on a Hill is great, but definitely the least impressed I've been with pre-release songs. I'm still cautiously optimistic as they've never disappointed me.

 

Vinyl arrived today. Excited to give this a spin later!

 

I haven’t been a fan of either singles so I’m not excited for this release.

Honestly, this band hasn’t been exciting to me since Better Nature but even that record has some clunkers. Sadly, I think the peak of this band will forever be the run of Carnavas - Neck of the Woods ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

 

Just listened to Scared Together and geez it’s so obnoxious.
