seeing this tonight, not sure what to expect but i am reasonably excited for it. is there possibly anything else i should try to watch or read today in preparation for this?

 

I knew nothing about the character and absolutely loved it. So no worries if you’re in the same boat

 

My family had no idea what it would be about and they loved it as well

 

There are a couple Iron Man 3, Incredible Hulk, and Doctor Strange references, but should be good to go in blind.

 

Only like 20 mins into this but put awkwafina in everything

Besides Ragnarok, i don’t think i’ve had this much fun during a Marvel movie. laughed out loud a ton of times, Michelle Yeoh was of course incredible, Wong steals any scene he is a part of, and of course he made the “ill venmo you” joke when you knew he would.

i might see this again this weekend.

 

Knew he’d come around eventually

 

Jokes aside, I’d pay double to see Leung star in a Scorsese film.

 

reading back a few pages and i see a fairly common issue was a lull in the middle of the movie, which i never felt at all. i thought it was perfectly paced.

 

Some of the flashbacks were highlights of the film.

 

yeah i think it was the better choice to not show you everything from the past in the beginning, felt better to show him reflecting/thinking about his mother's death after returning to his father and hearing his father talk about her.

 

I guess Chinese citizens can always illegally download any future Shang-Chi or Eternals film.
