The response to the recent rape case (I linked in here a few pages ago I think) in my city has been really amazing. Not just the fact that it's getting appealed but from individuals in the city as well. I saw this on facebook today:

That whole article is pretty gross. The focus on sexual text messages instead of the fact that War Machine nearly killed her is really bad reporting to say the least.

 

Today I was talking with a few women about men and beauty/hygiene and they were saying how they should create a men's nail salon but call them foot massages instead of pedicures and have the salon be all manly and call it something other than a salon and have manly products so their bfs/husbands will feel comfortable getting one done and finally I was like THIS IS LEGIT THE STUPIDEST AND MOST RIDICULOUS THING I'VE HEARD ALL DAY. TELL THEM TO STOP HAVING SUCH WEAK LITTLE EGOS AND TAKE CARE OF THEIR FEET. GOOD LORD.

But srsly, like come on. Stuff like this is why they have "manly" Diet Dr. Pepper commercials and soaps marketed to men with black and manly packaging lol it's so stupid. I literally cannot even fathom the thought of having such a tiny little fragile ego that it'd even be an issue. Like i get it, it's socialization, but how do you not feel stupid af with ur jank feet cause pedicures are too ~womanly?????

I mean I hate pedicures because I hate feet, but that's different lol. I swear, the lengths ppl will go to coddle men and their egos

 

What's holding Arab women back from achieving equality?

 

a men's nail salon would be so lame, like they'd be playing sports in the background and all the manicurists would be hired based on their looks

 

Idk why taking care of urself has to be a womanly thing either. I know women are pressured to do it and I'd rather have nobody feel pressured than dragging more ppl into our never-good-enough misery lol, but at the same time it reminds me of aziz Ansari and his "if you read one book and take a shower do you think dicks will suddenly start flying at your face??" joke.
