150% i can personally guarantee you that there are children who buy into it, i know at least several that age who do

chase is right in that to a degree it is just repeating what they know, but i do think it's important also to consider how seeds of bigotry are sown (not saying he doesn't believe that, just highlighting it). some kids will grow their views, but a lot won't.

I remember being a kid and being upset my mom didn't vote for Bush cause everyone else said their parents voted for Bush. Kids have a lot of dumb reasoning for things and hopefully there's guidance there to help them grow but too often there's not and I'm just like :-/

yeah I guess Tomi Lahren and Youngcons aren't built in a lab when Professor Utonium accidentally spills racism instead of Chemical X as much as it seems that way

Kids mainly learn racism from their parents so their parents praise a candidate the kid is going to agree when it's young regardless of platform/party.

They're kids, they don't know any better. I have to echo what I've said a few times before, but I was republican and didn't know why, all through high school. I would just repeat whatever family would say and believed it. And the opposition didn't provide any logic or facts as counter arguments, I'd just hear "that's racist" and a lot of anger. And then there's the being a MENA minority thing where speaking out about your oppression is suddenly also racist, so, it keeps a lot of people I know on the right.

My parents didn't really talk about politics or social issues when I was growing up, which is good because I formed my own opinions more than a lot of kids probably do. Of course I kinda went the other way by talking to my daughter about this election

My mom has some antiquated opinions. She's also frustratingly passive, but it's also the reason why I hold none of her views so I guess it worked out.

Growing up my family never discussed politics ever, unless I asked which I rarely ever did. It just wasn't a topic of conversation. As I got to my tweens I gravitated towards politics and was always a lil radical since old punk music guided me there and I researched the music and then the politics of the musicians and then yeah. I pretty much still believe everything I learned then, minus thinking we should all elect Jello Biafra as president of the world lmao. I actually do wish my parents had talked about politics more tho and how things impacted them as a low income, teen parents, mixed race household. But they've just never had interest in that.

All I knew was my parents were Republican. That's what I'm registered as but I've never voted for a Republican.

hope I didn't come across as holier than thou or anything, I'm still learning too and I'm sure I had dumb views as a kid too, I think Trump is still so uniquely terrible (I know not that uniquely patriarchy and capitalism personified) that it's hard for me to imagine anyone liking him

I don't remember talking politics with my mother when I was that young, but, given our class position, it was there. I remember asking my mother about racism and how I didn't understand why people hated my siblings and I because of the color of our skin. She didn't have a good answer for me and, really, one couldn't expect her to.
