I wonder if he'll even stay in jail for 6 months. Money can buy an early release I would think.

    "Good behavior"

  3. Because we have a society have convinced ourselves that in order for someone to be capable of committing a heinous act they must be a monster in every sense of the word, therefore people who have been good in their experience cannot possibly be guilty of something like this. This is, of course, completely false, since it's the marriage of privilege and entitlement that cause "normal" people to do monstrous things to others and not an inherent badness.

It's a choice, not a personality trait. We like to tell ourselves otherwise because it protects the status quo and calls for less action or personal responsibility on our part as a society and as individuals when the people in our lives mess up. It's easier on our psyches and our impression of reality if we pretend that rapists and "bad people" are easily identified by their everyday actions.

I pride myself on not hating many people in life. I know that's a weird thing to take pride in but I do. I try my best to love most everyone. But I fucking hate this guy. I hate his family. And I don't like how that makes me feel lol

I'm glad his swimming career is over after this public outrage at continued bullshit.

    Hoping he takes up drowning.

He's getting released 2 months early.

He better be put in witness protection bc he won't be safe once he gets out. If my dad knew who my rapist was he would go to jail for killing him.

Yeah I've read some scary shit online of things that people are threatening once he gets out. Idk this is all so fucked.

Something that really gets to me is what would have happened if those two guys didn't walk by? He might have killed her.

Criminals don't get into witness protection right? That feels ridiculous to even say.

Didn't Casey Anthony go into hiding with the witness protection program? I could be totally wrong though.

I may be just talking out of my ass, but I think that they can. Like don't some gang members that have gone to prison and been reformed go into witness protection when they get out? Obviously that's a way different scenario but I think it can happen.

She was acquitted of murder though (even though her guilt is still up to debate)

Yeah that would make sense, sounds like a different but similar program tho. This piece of shit can pay for his own security tho

    This world hates women.

Doesn't matter that she was acquitted. America hates her.

True, but I meant in relation to the post above you regarding criminals going into WP

And those who hate women the most seemingly always get positions of power. This judge especially has a history where he clearly just fucking hates women.

A reported 95% of people in witness protection are criminals.
United States Federal Witness Protection Program - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

That said, I don't think he'll go into that program, or really even need to. People may (rightfully) want to wish I'll on this rapist, but the truth is, if someone can convince a judge that he only deserves like 3 months in jail for raping an unconscious woman, just imagine the killing he would make in court were someone to take it upon themselves to attack him.

That is powerful stuff. Biden has been at the forefront of political efforts to combat violence against women for decades, I'm not surprised he chose to speak out. What a beautiful statement.

Now, if only it had been coming from "Joe Biden, presumptive Democratic nominee..."

I think the article explains that, but yeah, I'm pretty sure a lot of people in witness protection are... well, witnesses.
