Yeah that part is a huge mess. I don’t know why they didn’t just take out that entire section with an editor’s note of why instead of leaving it up as an example when she is clearly not.

Kenan Thompson Inching Closer to 'SNL' Exit

 

I feel like it’s the 5th year in a row I’ve seen an article like that but it’s about time, hope it works out for him

 

Wonder how different the show'll feel with his absence

 

Kenan leaving will have a huge impact. Probably more than anyone else that’s left.

 

I don’t want him to leave :(

 

I wouldn’t blame him for finally going. I can’t imagine the wear and tear SNL must take on someone, let alone a guy that’s going into his 40s.

 

He’s the longest running cast member right?

 

yeah, 2 more years than Darrell Hammond, 3 more than Seth Meyers and 5 more than Fred Armisen who it feels like was always on SNL foever

 

I think they're more in fear of Kate McKinnon leaving since it's the last year of her contract. Kenan would be a huge loss too, but BOTH would really make it interesting to see what they do going towards 2019-20.

 

No Keenan would be crazy but obviously a long time coming. Idk much about his career going forward but obvi hope for the best

 

Random thought but does anyone have any idea on how much cast members make per episode? I’m sure it varies based on how long they’ve been on the show but I was just curious.

 

According to celebritynetworth.com (which usually isn’t very accurate), first year cast members it’s $7k an episode while a long time veteran (such as Keenan) earns up to $25k an episode. I remember when Chris Rock was on the WTF podcast, he mentioned when he was a cast member in the early 90s it was $4k an episode for him.

I'm pretty sure Will Ferrell was the highest paid cast member ever when he was on, like 100k per episode or something crazy like that

 

Pretty good cold open, a few lazy jokes but there was a lot to catch up on

Never really a fan of musical monologues but that was enjoyable enough

That premise was such a long walk lol but I definitely laughed
