It's been rumored to be his final season for 4-5 seasons now.

Kenan will be tying Darrell Hammond's record as the longest time as a cast member this season so he may as well just stay two more and beat it

Though I actually wouldn't be surprised if Hammond was announced to be a cast member again this season, nobody beats his Trump and he's the announcer now anyway

@tdlyon Yeah that was definitely my gut reaction. Lorne has his hands in so many things that I could see it being an issue that the show wasn't part of his production company.

Awesome, especially since I had heard somewhere that Chris Kelly was leaving the show this season (maybe even in this thread). Glad that he's staying

  10. The only writer besides Tim (and I guess Jost) I have any sort of familiarity with is Fran and she's the fucking best. Make her writing czar.

Just a reminder Kyle Mooney was on Parks & Rec

    Season 42 cast confirmed

Aside from the three previously announced departures, everyone else is coming back and looks like no new additions

It would have made sense if they were getting rid of Taran and Jay to make room for new blood but now letting them go prematurely makes even less sense to me

Kinda wondering if Che will have to play more african american men in sketches now.

I don't understand that, but I get not rushing to add people.

EDIT: Except Rudnitsky, glad he's gone

Season 39 was odd considering they overstuffed themselves with new people and only three of them (not counting Jost) are still on.

Transition year, and then we're gonna get like 18 new cast members for season 43.

Did they go to Second City or stand ups this summer to look for writers or performers? Can't remember reading anything about that.

I'm sure they auditioned people but no one was chosen. Also it's not uncommon to bring in a featured player mid-season.
