Was that mentioned in the show? Because Rachel Bloom mentions this specifically in her ID10T podcast appearance last month about people with BPD getting tattoos as a coping mechanism

 

I like Pete Davidson, but I have no idea why he’s on SNL still. He’s just not funny to me at all and I’ve seen way better people axed. It’s like they’d feel bad firing him so they just keep him around.

 

I love Pete and think he’s funny.

Wow interesting. He’s always given me the impression that he just kinda hangs around the set. He doesn’t do impressions, always just acts as himself in the far and few skits he’s in, barely has any lines, and his appearances on weekend update are meh. I’d consider him a cameo at best.

 

Not sure what it is but he does deadpan really well. He speaks on mental health issues that aren’t typically covered with a candidness not often seen on live television, and he owns a confidence in his performance despite the limits of his talents. There’s a positive energy he exudes onscreen which I naturally gravitate to.

 

I was looking at the cast members from the past few seasons and holy shit, I forgot about Taran Killam. He was fucking great, was he fired or left?

 

Might be personal opinion, but the impressions are my least favorite part of SNL

1860’s newspaper critic, Jebidiah Atkinson is one of my favorite characters. Been watching some clips for the last hour and they’re still hilarious

He was fired. He had planned to do one more season but he wasn't invited back. I don't think any reason was ever given.

Oh dang! I didn’t know this, could’ve sworn I heard him on a podcast shortly afterward where he said he left to work on other things. Guess I remembered that wrong, haha.

Pete has always reminded me of a young Adam Sandler

 

The Adam Sandler comparison is pretty fitting. He’s a good role player and brings some youth to the cast.
