Don't suppose anyone got an extra copy of Race when it went up for sale? I subbed to email notifications in case it goes back in stock, but I'd really love a copy of that record. I wouldn't even mind paying double for it, but it's literally going for $177 on Discogs.

Album rules and I was stoked to hear him play Walk Away last month

 

Very excited to see him in a couple of weeks

 

I believe this is from the new film he scored if I'm not mistaken

 

Doing a discography run and I'm convinced this is his best album, I love it more and more each time I listen. I'm also convinced he doesn't have a single bad album.

 

Saw him on the Kevin Devine/MO tour and I’m still convinced Manchester played a half assed set in retaliation for how our crowd treated Alex

 

His older lofi stuff is cool but I loooooooove his newer stuff so much. He just gets so weird with it.

 

Generally speaking, I think each of his records is better than the last, but Beach Music is my favorite

 

Rocket is probably my fav

 

Just a few hours out from the show tonight. Wonder what the merch situation will be like, if there's any chance of vinyl that isn't in stock online.

 

All he had was vinyl when I saw him in Pioneertown. Was pretty bummed.

 

First show since the pandemic for me and boy, it was perfect. Started right at 8, only one opening band (Snarls ruled), done by 11. The band got weird and the drums/guitar were SO fucking loud lol. Played a good portion of House of Sugar and the rest of the set was career-spanning, even a couple of Race songs thrown in, which the crowd went wild for. Just a great show front to back. Every time I listen to him, it makes me want to work on my record.

 

Oh, and no special vinyl, just the stuff that's available online, but I did get a sick hoodie!

 

Playing through this my first time—my first time on any of his albums—and man walk away is such a strange opener. That run of southern sky through taking is impeccable tho

honestly you cant go wrong with either Beach Music or Rocket, both are incredible.

Beach Music is just indie rock perfected.

 

Walk Away is incredible and I was so stoked when he played it live.

 

Yeah "Walk Away" is nuts. Definitely check out Beach Music and then DSU @Leftandleaving

 

I think I said this about "Gretel" but "Kicker" is the best song of all-time lol

 

Kicker is probably my favorite Alex G song
